Headlight Retrofit
Blackedout replied to Thewes's topic in Member Rides & Builds -- Show off your whip, Show off your System!
That looks sick.......Nice work. I want to do that to my car. I've got HIDs but no projectors.... -
$80 a month for my civic SI....Full Coverage '08... Insurance doesn't drop until your 25. Get the car insured under your parent's name... Use their card for the car. All that matters is that the car is insured and that you have liability. It doesn't matter who's name is on that card. I'm 18, car is under my parent's name and their insurance. I pay the payments thought. As soon as I get a ticket, the cost of insurance may change.

Yea, I know what you mean..... I can also tell you the guys who ran the 13's probably have been to the track a couple times..... They were probably playing with tire pressure, running with the fuel tank a little closer to empty, and at least took the spare tire/ jack/ tools out of their cars for their passes. But even in the mid 14's, which is very possible....... Our little civics are keepin up/ right behind the 2wd SS trailblazers.... .......Which if you've ever been in one, they feel pretty quick

I've looked into it for a while..... With a good driver, 13s are possible with I/H/E..... Even easier with NST (Non stop tuning) pulleys or a hondata Reflash (Which only helps the 0-60 times......VTEC kicks in at 4,500 RPMS instead of 6,000....There are no overall HP or torque gains at all though) http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/autocross-s...ile-thread.html BTW, Theres about a 100 HP difference between the SI and Non-SI...... Mines an SI. 187 HP to the wheels stock...200 at the flywheel. EDIT: Cliff Notes... Happy Birthday man! -
I'm with bangin caddy on this one. I wouldn't charge someone for my work if I didn't have enough experience to find power in a door with power windows and door locks. Not trying to start a flame war, but all I'm saying is once you charge someone for something you did to their car, you better be prepared to pay for the damages you cause. I say screw the LEDS, if its in a dual speaker, they probably won't last long anyway.

I Have A Break In My Wire ?
Blackedout replied to a topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Time to upgrade. No point in spending money on 4 AGAIN. Go 0. If you're running a stock alt use the left over 4 for the big 3. I speak from experience, let me tell you fires are no fun. Either fuse it or take it completely out. A fuse up front will reduce the risk of a fire, but its never the solution. Now would be a good time to run 0 under the car isolated with PVC piping. By using PVC piping it is insurance that the wire can't ground out on the chassis. -
lol......... $500 earned with a real job is probably a better bet if your trying to keep out of trouble.

So, Im An Idiot
Blackedout replied to 01xtreme's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
Its hard to lie about water damage, due to the moisture indicators that "bleed" when wet. However, bleach will turn the red dye white FYI..... There should be one under the battery and one or two on the circuit board inside. When I worked at a cell phone store, we used to take denatured alcohol and a tooth brush and scrub the shit out of the boards, so no corrosion can occur in the future. Then we'd either dry them off with a heat gun or put them in a toaster oven (at a low heat) to completely get rid of the moisture. It brought some phones back. 50/50 chance most the time though. -
Jobs
Blackedout replied to Forevrbumpn's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
The news isn't helping anything at all either. They are putting fear in people. I'm currently unemployed....... Been looking for a job for a month. Unemployment denied me because my old boss lied. Its a shitty situation for sure. It will only get worse before it gets better though.
