      AQ 120.4, and AQ 1200.1

Though I do want the AQ 2200.1, but I need to figure electrical out for that, so the 1200.1 should keep me safe till then

Gonna be a while till I get the amps though, have alot more work to do on my car.

Though, I've heard great things about it sound quality wise, and I love the fact it does 120 watts at 4 ohms.

Trying to go for an SQL build

  3. I don't mind mismatching speakers, and subs but I like the looks of matching amps.
  4. Here some plate amps 300 watts $168 http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-750 500 watts $249 http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-752
  5. Giant amps are sexy, makes them look imposing, and mean.
  6. Though this thread reminded me of my friend who runs all JL Audio who makes fun of the DC Audio amps for being gigantic, and I tell him "Well, what, you expect a 9k watt amp to be tiny like your HD amps?"
  7. Yeah, you're not gonna be able to fit an 18' inside that trunk, you're better off with 2 12's, plus it's not that much less cone area, and you get double motor force as well. 2 12's in proper box will out do an 18' in an improper box shoved inside that trunk.
  8. When idiots have a lot money to play with, this happens.
  9. Really depends on how much room you have to work with, and the tuning of the box really, either size will do well on the low end.
  10. Think with the amps you're running, and that you want to go on the lows, ever thought about the FI Q's?
  11. Well, now the car is useless now, drive that in a hot sunny day, snowy day or rainy day, and the wrapping is ruined
  12. Even though there's no noise ordinance laws here in Florida, and Ocoee cops don't give a shit, I still turn down my stuff when at the redlight.
  13. Today I just got my DD-1, and just set my gains on my bass amp, and discovered my headunit distorts at 35 outta 35, but my speakers sounded like crap past 30 since I'm on headunit power for the mid's and highs, and I usually listen to 28, so I decided to set the gain at 29 instead of 34, cause at 34, I wasn't enjoying my sub when I am at 28, so setting the gain at 29 has me enjoy my sub, and I don't plan on going past 29 really whether for daily or demo. Gain was set with -5 db 40 hz test track since my songs don't go past -5db, and the amp seems to run a bit cooler than before when I set it by ear, and the gain knob was a little less then when I set the gains by ear. Now the question is, is it ok to set the gains at a desired volume instead of the maximum undistorted volume? I do plan on retuning when I get a mids and highs amp.
  14. Isn't SoundStream owned by Power Acoustik now? That's what I heard
  15. It doesn't matter if you run a Pyle or an SMD on that amp, that amp will run the same as long as the gain is set correctly. You should focus instead of finding subs that can handle the amp.
  16. I just got mine, I'm in Ocoee, which is like extremely close to Orlando. PM me
  17. What could possibly be the other piece, I thought fidelity was the main goal of a Sound Quality vehicle. wrong word three pieces accuracy/clarity of notes flat response and then there is imaging/staging Yes, High Fidelity means all of those, or at least the sum of all of those.
