  1. for some reason flex looks better on camera, i have recorded mine before and it waves more in camera. in person it looks like shaking in camera is like waves
  2. x2 most alternators on ebay dont even put out what they rate them.go with mechman it can be easier to wire to your truck you ninja my post the 270a is like 165a at 700 rpm more than what the eBay one will do at 2000 rpm, the website says $450
  3. this is the wiring diagram for the ford alt, you can call mechman and they can hook you up with an alt that only needs one wire to make it charge, the diagram is if you want to get an original alternator
  4. Ok, but do you absolutely need to use the other outputs on the alt if it's a secondary alt? Also, I'm not trying to replace the original alt in my truck, it's only a few days old. yes you need to use all wires for it to charge not unless you get a 1 wire alternator not true trust me, my truck had a si10 alt in it and i upgraded it to the cs130 and pluged up the charging wire and when i turned on my truck it was 12.3 volts even if i was at 2k rpm. i got the red wire from my pigtail and wired it to distribution block constant power and still at 12.3 volts, then i was reading about the alternator voltage regulator needing to get excited before being able to charge so i read on it some more and it said to get a 500ohm resister and put it on the white wire and run it to the ignition and bam i was charging at 14.4. you can also use an idiot light and that will help charge too, mine is GM though so for might be different but could be easy if you read about it. edit:as long as the excite wire and volt sense wire is connected you are good some fords have external regulators so you might just be lucky and plugging in the charging wire is good enough

Also, I'm not trying to replace the original alt in my truck, it's only a few days old. yes you need to use all wires for it to charge not unless you get a 1 wire alternator if you get same alt you can just tap into the existing wiring.
  6. Ok, cool. I had to ask because alts have a + output straight to the battery, but they also have those extra wires that plug in, I was wondering if it affected the alt's charging potential if those other wires were not being used.. i added a 3 wire alt to my truck just a few weeks ago, i did one straight to battery then got a resistor from radio shack and ran that wire to the ignition and the other one to a power distribution block and it is charging 14.4 now. you can google it and find wiring diagrams for alts and you can also put GM alt on a ford
  7. you need to put a load to really know the amperage is giving out, at 40a it must have just been charging the batteries and keeping the car on. This is a quote from Mechman about the 400a unit. "maybe 40 amps at idle." Now seriously dude quit posting just to post. If you have something useful to say then that is fine but just posting to raise your post count is getting really annoying. im not posting just to get my count up, it can stay at zero for all i care. just giving my opinion edit: i read your first post wrong, i thought you tested one and only saw 40a. my bad

  9. just got my DD-1 a few days ago and waiting for this one, few more weeks to go or could be days now
  10. damn, everyone is getting theirs and im still waiting on mine =/, i ordered mine on nov 23
  11. i ship stuff to Canada and if you get the one for $350 it will be on the range you want to pay, i think it wont be over $150 to ship there
  12. ive seen some on ebay for the last few weeks at $350 to $450 and $40 shipping
  13. you wont get an 18 btl or AA mayhem for $500 shipped, try looking into SSA Xcon or Zcone its rated at 2250 rms but can handle more, or look to see who has a used 18 for sale
  14. this is how he did mine Hey there Miguel. Thank you for choosing RAM Designs for your enclosure design needs. Here is the detailed information for your 4x 15L7 bandpass box. The box is going to be 3ft^3 per sealed chamber and a 12.5ft^3 common ported chamber tuned to 46hz.
  15. some chargers stop charging then senses volt drop and turn back on, i know mine does that
  16. just got a box design by ram design and he tuned it at 46 hz, maybe it has to do with the range and trying to get the low lows from subs
