  1. I may have missed it, but where did it say towards the end of April? You might be confusing it with another group buy?
  2. Alright Nathan, I really appreciate the quick response to my dilemma. I'll go ahead and get in touch with FedEx and most likely fill you in on things each step of the way, haha. I'm sure it didn't help it was in transit on Friday the 13th
  3. aluminum's price point makes it alot better to use than copper. The differences aren't really going to be noticed.
  4. I might be mistaken, but that's the beauty of fast discharge, if one battery gets drawn from, the other batteries will supply the power to maintain the same voltage as the rest. Think of it as battery osmosis. That's what i took from researching, at least.
  5. If you were to do that, Just use wires to connect all of your batteries. You're drawing power from the same bank regardless.
  6. ^ x2! Don't want to sound like a nuthugger, but he does do really good work. But to save money for doing something out of the ordinary for you, i'd just have a buss bar for your 2 3000's and have short runs of 0ga to your d2700. I can see that being very easy to mess up if you dont get the correct angle/distance
  7. you could possibly try the rope caulk some people use between subs/box. Not sure if it would be think enough, though.
  8. Well, installed my D3400 today, resting voltage at 12.9 when I put it in, and it's definitely a huge improvement of what I had before! Let it run for about 15 minutes after installing and ended with a resting voltage of 13.5 Those terminals definitely set it off, hats off to XS Power and Geoff for making awesome products! Mechman install should be coming in the next couple of days.
  9. Not sure if there's a difference from generations, but the only metal contact is the handle of the window.
  10. Well eff, there goes my recent idea. You could give it a shot though, I was just going to lay down weatherstripping or closed cell foam on where the glass touches the actual hatch.
  11. Stunned at how fast shipping was (2 days) to Iowa. Opened up the box for the d3400 I had, and it seems to be just fine. Going to keep an eye on it for a few weeks after it's installed though. Got to the D3100 and noticed a gash on a top corner, and figured it wouldn't affect performance so I could live with a little cosmetic defect. Gave it a once over, and noticed it was likely dropped on it's front through shipping or something. Has a small tear and it slightly leaking on the front of it. Just my luck, I suppose. I'll give you guys a call on Monday hopefully to get this resolved or contact XS about it. Kind of just a rant about how terrible my luck is. Still hoping that 3400 is fine though! Fedex is terrible around here >.> Didn't seem too beat up when they got here, though
  12. Wrong time for me to own a Ford Free bump for a heck of a deal, if you have tany left I should say.
  13. I'd say you should be fine. Just have to be smart about it, if they're getting hot/stinky just turn down the gain until you feel comfortable about it. Ahh, the glory of having head room...
  14. Dangit! Was hoping nobody caught that before me, haha.
  15. I saw your other thread about your electrical. With that 5500 keep an eye on your voltage, you may end up having to add 1-2 more xp's. But who knows, it may be just fine.
  16. No idea what size your stock battery is, but go measure it and find an XS that would fit in it's location. Just be sure it's a D or S series, as XP's can't withstand heat from under the hood applications.
  17. honestly, mainly for a smaller box size, i'd go sundown Z's or Nightshades. But you're gonna need mawr power!
  18. Think about box design before you persue this anymore. Build a nice box for your 12's and you'll probably be happy with it. But if you're set on it, consider what your box height is going to be if forward firing that thing. And first and foremost, just save to get electrical man, lol. I was creeping your youtube, and an alternator's calling your name. 11.9v i thought i saw? It's going to end up the way the brutus did soon.
  19. One day, there will be a generation of Explorer.....with alot of cargo area.
  20. Skimmed through both pages and not sure if it was mentioned. On my Explorer, the alt actually had a little bit of play in the mounting holes before it was tightened down. It squeaked at 2k+ rpms and was very annoying. Loosened it up, and pushed back while tightening it straightened it back up and didnt have any more squeaks.
  21. I've heard for every 3 amps, it's roughly a 1 HP loss. May be some mumbo jumbo, though.
  22. Haven't seen too many Broncos with leather. But nonetheless I'm curious as to how that bedliner on the floor turns out, and lots of potential in that thing!
  23. I'd still say you're good to go, if it were me, put everything in, see if you have drop at all, and if you do just put an xs in the back. the bigger the better, but you probably wouldn't need a d3100 if anything
