  1. here is an idea, if worried about quality why not go to the store and buy cd's? or itunes? most songs on itunes go for around $.89-$1.xx? never seen a song on itunes for over 1.50. its not like a $1 will make you or break you. you can find that in change digging through your car or laundry. hell maybe even enough change to buy 3 or 4 songs.
  2. ^^ still not fixed. and did you wirte inside of the quote? if so i proclaim it a triple fail in a single post. didnt fix/explain either post you made so thats 2 and you wrote inside the qoute that makes 3. maybe we should add a 4th fail for the lack of thinking before posting any of the three posts?
  3. well if your wanting a screen then maybe it was just the deck saying get a damn touchscreen already im tired of the bass rattling my insides. lol
  4. saw a pioneer 880prs in the for sale section. sorry to hear about that deck fire though.
  5. a belt dressing wont realy help much if any. the most you can realy do is make sure all your other pulleys are moving smoothly and that the belt has enough tension on it. maybe try to get ligter weight pulleys to take some extra strain of the engine and maybe adjust the idle to be 50-200rpms higher. from my understanding a high output alt will only create enough drag on the engine to where you lose 1-5hp which you wont notice at the wheels. light weight pulleys can gain you that much right back and like i said you wont notice that difference but it could make a small difference in the output of the alternator. that combined with 50-200rpm higher at an idle should take care of the proplem i personaly wouldnt adjust the rpms any higher then 950-1000 at an idle though. thats just my thoughts on the proplem though. lowering the strain on the engine and uping the performance a little can make a slight difference since the engine would be able to spin the alt better.
  6. i have some issues with low voltage with my singer amp but it was fine when i first put it in. the belt is slipping now because i need to replace my tensioner pulley, belt is brand new. make sure your belt is nice and snug.
  7. like i was saying, first do the big 3, then upgrade the battery under the hood and add a second battery to the back, 2 runs of power and ground from front to back battery. there is about 600-700 there. then build the box 2 15s will fit a lot better then 2 18s, 18s will be hard to fit in there and still have room for the amp(s) and battery bank. i would do 2 15s. so if you build for 2 15s double maybe even triple up on the walls and then go 3-4layers on the baffle. then make sure its nicely braced threaded rod is a good choice for bracing doesnt take up any real amount of volume from the box and not to spendy. then if you have enough left get 2 15s and a 2000-3000 watt amp and run it like that just watch your voltage. now all that wont get you to your goal but will give you a great start. at that point you buy an ho alt, the biggest you can fit. then load that trunk up with a battery bank. after you get the electrical worked out to handle the 5k-7k im you will need in order to reach your goal you can get 2 15s that can handle the power and the amp(s) you need to get that 5000-7000watts. then tear those doors about fiberglass them to fit some nice componet sets and work on your sound stage. step 1 upgrade electrical to handle 2k rms step 2 build your wall step 3 buy cheap used subs and amp(s) that do about 2k rms step 4 save money step 5 build electrical to handle 5k-7k rms step 6 buy subs that can handle 5k-7krms step 7 buy amp(s) that do 5k-7k rms step 8 save money step 9 upgrade front sound stage step 10 give out FREE demos. dont charge like the other idiots.
  8. 2000 is a little low for a wall build. i mean your looking at a good 600-800 in electrical upgrades and then you will need a battery bank to fit the bill of how much power you will run. 2000 is a great start though, build a strong box for 2 15 or 2 18s, pick up 2 cheaper subs and an amp to match. a ho alt battery under the hood and a secondary battery in the trunk. watch the forsale thread for good deals. figure out where you want to be at in the end, what subs how much power and what score. then set a plan. i would start with first building a stong enough wall enclosure so htat you only have to do it once. buy used subs and amp(s). upgraded battery under the hood and an ho alt if you can but atleast the big 3. then if you dont get the ho alt i would do that first, after the ho alt work on a bigger battery bank to fit the final goal. then get the amp(s) then subs. you should atleast try to sound deaden where the wall will be so that you can atleast have it done before the wall is in or else you just might not ever do it with out tearing the wall apart. in no way am i saying it cant be done with a $2000 budget but it wont be easy. im sure most people on here running walls have spent a good 5-6k on them plus there front sound stage.
  9. since the truck is brand new and it should only be swirl marks, i would say take it to a dealership and have them take car of it. i would imagine it to only take 200-350 or if you can find a good detail shop or even some body shops they might do it for cheaper then a dealership. no need to wet sand it as wetsanding it will only get down to the clear coat or worse if your not carefull. wetsanding is more of something for deeper scratches/swirl marks. just get it buffed out any detail shop, body shop, or dealership can do it. if your lucky the dealer you got it from might be nice enough to do it for free even cant hurt to ask them.
  10. i vote for the bedliner. easy and quick. seals it up good. keep the inside of the port smooth though. sand it down and paint it with some spray paint. the smoother the port the better the airflow.
  11. the pioneer deh80prs, its my next bigger purchase for the car. sonicelectronis doesnt show it on their website but crutchfield has a great price, its a lot of head unit for the money. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_13080PRS/Pioneer-DEH-80PRS.html?tp=5684
  12. a quick google search. darker paint is harder to take care of, shows the emperfections more. second video is more helpfull
  13. with hp he can put out with that engine i dont think weight is much of an issue. besides that, there are ways to build a big system in any car and the car still be able to b put back to stock with no sign of it being altered for a big system. just takes time and hard work
  14. well, if you look at his post/topics he has/had a vs thread might have been locked already.
  15. what?! why would the people that made the subwoofer have the info? thats just crazy, i mean i never would have looked in the manual that came with the subs i have. i just figured companies sold equipment and left it to us to test them and teach others and provide the info on their equipment. you know, i was taught something about this thing called google.com where you can type in stuff and it gives you info about it but i think it works better when you know how to spell.
  16. k, well i will look at the clarion when i get back home. heading to town and hopefully getting the car metered on a termlab today. would like to see what i do comared to the people of smd.
  17. forgot to mention that i will never put a processor in this car. maybe a 3sixty.3 in the wifes car as that will be more of a sq build. so the pioneer hu mentioned above would give me more then enough sq options.
  18. yeah i know what you mean there, we have had some nice days in the calley but not many.
  19. so, my current head unit after 4 years is having issues, i had to glue the volume knop back on and i sometimes have to push foward/next a few times before it goes to the next track. its just a basic pioneer with a 8 band eq with 2volt preouts for front rear and sub, has hpf and sub level. paid around 250 for it. im looking for one that will have good sound quality and decent pre out voltage with front rear and sub preout. want the display to be either blue or changable. wouldnt mind a double din but i doubt i would use the dvd or navi features the double dins come with. this is what i have found so far, http://www.crutchfield.com/p_13080PRS/Pioneer-DEH-80PRS.html?i=13080PRS&tp=5684#overview-tab i love the fact that it has the auto eq and the 16band right and left eq is great. has time adjustment and a whole lot more.
  20. torres, still not 100% on the port tuning from what im heard but its only suppose to be off by a hair.
  21. you guys buy in and come pfd i will be buying 1 maybe 2. sooner if i can sell the capacitor and come up with the rest of the money. ive got voltage drop that needs fixing.
  22. but would that buy in include the cost of shipping or is it 1500 worth of merchandise and then the cost of shipping is seperate from buy in? im assuming cost of merchandise being 1500 and the shipping not be included in the buy in price. it would only make sense to do it that way to me. and im assuming that the bigger amount you buy in at the better the deals right?
