  1. Ok I did what you guys said and yes the remote gain limits its max to whatever the gain is set. That is really nice because you cannot go over the set gain that way. I really like it and most of all I like that the clipping indicator is actually pretty accurate when compared with my digital scope. My only issue is that the blue power led can light up the whole car at night! I painted the blue led black and it helped alot.
  2. I have not used it yet on my 5k so before I start ripping stuff apart and installing the remote gain - I was wondering if someone from dc can answer my questions. Does this gain limit itself to the actual gain control on the amp or does it override the amp's gain? Is the clipping indicator pretty accurate on it or should I just set the gain with a scope and not even use this remote gain?
  3. Its crazy how tremendous the difference is from 150's to 160's - 160's is like a whole new world!!! Whoa!
  4. Hey thats pretty cool how you did that op, bet it takes time to do it.
  5. From my interest in electronics at the age of 12 and building small amplifier circuits, by teaching myself from the city library. Then I started fixing audio stuff for people I knew and next thing I was getting asked to install stuff after fixing it... yall know where it all leads haha. Over 20 years later, I'm across the world and still doin my thing
  6. Well hell you could serve breakfast n bass at those early morning sound off's and car shows lol.
  7. I thought that if you use an in-line cap for the highs that it should be around 3.3uF or 2.2uF ?? Btw, Dayton caps are one of the best for this sort of application (from Parts-Express as well) and make sure they are non-polarized as well.
