  1. Maaaad! But why not tensile leads? Those look like they hit the cone (hence the padding on the cone).
  2. Maybe by summer we will have spring. fuck.

Right? I'm not necessarily that bad here, but we had just a couple of days that it went from 40 degrees to 85..

We hit 70 once this year where I live otherwise 30/40/50 and I'm happy. This is the first week of straight 60 but there is rain all week

We broke 80 yesterday, was the first time in 7 months.

  3. I would say you should straight pipe it and rip around the block, but I think you're a respectable citizen...
  4. At least you'd be ready for a bigger amplifier when you wanted one. Well thats one way to look at it, lol That's what I did. I've got dual alts and multiple batteries for my 3.5k...all becasue eventually Ill go bigger.

  6. Yep. Thats the recomendations from DC themselves.
  7. Its starting to get warm out...start up a build log maybe?

  8. That's FedEx's deal with shipping problems not Mechman's. Mechman has amazing customer service, Matt helped me out over the weekend with a few issues.
  9. So I'm guessing that without the regulator turned on, the alternator still will generate some kind of electricity but not enought to do any damage?
  10. I started my truck with command start this morning, and I wondered if the regulator in the secondary alternator was actually on. Obviously, using command start means the key isn't in the ON position, and I did check with a DMM...and sure enough the 12v ignition that I tapped into doesn't turn on with the command start but does as soon as I put the key in and turn it to the ON position. Bad for the alternator to run without the regulator turned on? It didn't run for more than a few minuets, but should I switch to a different source? Edit: The secondary just has the single 12v turn on wire.
  11. When your meters turn on they do a sweep all the way up then back down. My VM-1 doesn't do that...should it?
  12. I have a Mechman 270 on right now. Its definitely an issue with the PCM thinking that the truck doesn't need the voltage because if I start turning on head lights, a/c, defogger, fans, the voltage will climb slowly back up. Of course I'm not going to go driving around like that just to get proper charging voltage. I haven't tried disconnecting the sensor on the battery ground, but I will try that today.
  13. 13.1 while driving and 12.6 resting voltage. I was thinking that having a charging voltage that low would maybe cause the battery to lose its ability to hold a charge. Thx for the reply.
  14. I have a XS intellicharger and had it on my batteries overnight before I initially started up the truck. I don't know if Mechman has an external regulator for my units but want to look into external or maybe a chip for the PCM to override the regulator.
  15. Stuck my 3400s under the hood on Tuesday after a good charging and the lovely PCM controlled voltage in my truck is working properly, as in, the voltage is at 13.1 because my batteries are good and charged...but it's been like this for a few days now. I know undercharging an XS Power battery can cause damage but under what circumstances? It's been at 13.1 for a total of 1-2 hours worth of driving and maybe a few minutes here and there at 12.8. The stupid thing is that even with the accessories, headlights, a/c and the towing mode (little trick to get the voltage up) she still sits at 13.1. I've had both my 3400s under the hood before but I've never seen voltage that low. Potential problems?
  16. It snowed today. Might be June when I can start working on my truck.

  18. Maybe you should look into a two alternators if you're tight on battery space.
