  4. I think its a cool product Steve. Of course, not everybody will like it or buy it, but I know I will. Haven't had my Stinger die yet, but I have to recalibrate the piece of shit weekly. I think if you can keep pricing a little under the Dakota gauges, many will be sold. ill buy one!!!! i bought my stinger VM a few years ago from a local shop ($45) still works but i have to recalibrate it every week or so if i want to know the most accurate voltage my amp see's otherwise its off .2 volts normally which sucks because sometimes i dont know if its my 400 dollar alternator acting up or my $40 VM lol isnt that the point of gauges? to know ACCURATE detailed info about the equipment its used for? god only knows what would happen if my A/F and boost gauge in my talon where off a few degree's weekly id end up detonating and screwing up my motor..... @steve what's the footprint like on the VM-1? i dont have much room to work with and i love how the stinger VM fits into a empty stock location! hopefully it isnt much bigger
  5. make sure you select "edit" on the original post and "Use full Editor" otherwise it will just give you basic editing options. im still trying to figure out how to hyperlink on this site its not the same as other forums lol

  9. ok ill txt you later tonight! my windshield is already cracked ( i dont think 4 15s on 5k will do to much more to it) so i may need 2 of them just in case i replace the windshield in the future interchangeable square port? im not sure what a "steve meade" port is but that does look like his somewhat im sure your just being sarcastic /w 6,000 posts lol
  10. Yeah, the only reason i didnt start yesterday was because i had no feeling in my finger! lol that nail gun hurt so gad damn bad,, dont worry about it. not a major rush as it will take around 2 weeks to pick it up from you...(maybe sooner depending on work i normally have weekends off) sucks about the nail in the finger while i was trying to put my alternator in place i smashed my thumb full force with a rubber mallet lol (blood blister FTW) BTW dont forget to have a decal ready for me when i drive down their my singer alternator one (giant size) will be going on the back window so i think yours will go upfront above my A line windshield let me know if you need measurements for it
  11. Yeah and that's gonna have some hella weird port noise... I'd buy/make a sign like in hangover 2 "No refunds, GTFO" Lol jk hopefully he's happy with it... can't really do to much if the customer demands it... Can't wait for you to start my box What I would give for a table saw and a garage
  12. Uhhhh I thought it was the other way around.....
  13. i dunno i think the idler pulley is squeaking... i just bought a dayco belts (40 bucks lol) and a new idler pulley and washers (my new singer alternator doesnt line up perfectly so im gonna put a washer or two behind the new idler pulley and hopefully that lines everything up)
  14. no advise? im going to be replacing the idler pulley and tensioner pulley hopefully nothing to major got fucked up :/

  16. Well I got it all fixed.... Go through the car wash ans my serpentine belt slips off in the middle of the car wash... so I shut the truck off wait for it to get done get a few people to help push it out of the way..n realize when I was hooking up coolant lines I didn't tighten one of them so it blew coolant all over my belt and pulleys... how much damage could it cause running the engine for about a min or less in the car wash? (Didn't hear it fall off only noticed my battery light was on and voltage sat at 12.1 then I shut it off didn't overheat ans had oil pressure) I got a new belt and clamped down the loose coolant hose and now there is a loud squealing when the engine is under load..... no coolant leaks water pump works and has no play... could it just be the coolant that is still all over the pulleys? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!
  17. hahah i read it and was like im not doing the head gasket?!?!? lol its all good tho once i seen it was leaking coolant i drained the oil and coolant to make sure there was no mix (natural instinct after owning a 00 ford explorer XLT) but yeah oil will be changed again (already changed it today )and after a 100 miles of seafoam action to get any loose crud and moisture (if any) build up and anything involving the coolant will be flushed (radiator, heater core, ect) im not looking forward to it but its got my audio build in a stand still
  18. one of my "mechanic" friends is gonna be helping so it shouldnt be to bad but he made a comment about it saying its a waste because every time he did one (3 total in his lifetime) there was some sort of bearing failure in all of the motors not to long after replacing the intake manifold gasket the motor and tranny are pushing 160k but it runs strong i dunno lol its only 30-40 bucks for the cheap gasket kit and a long days worth of work... cant go wrong i guess if the motor is going to fail. there isnt anything thats going to stop it. lol and just to be clear i have no noticeable coolant in the oil/crankcase or vice versa... the coolant is leaking out of the front passenger side (behind the alt bracket) im not burning any coolant (exhuast/spark plugs look tip top) doesnt stutter or bog down.. i dunno i think he is just being a dick because he had bad experiences lol
  19. FML! SCREW GM AND THEIR BUNK ASS GASKETS!!!! ok now thats out of the way! about a week after buying the SUV i had a serious coolant leak from a unknown location.... i pin pointed the location to be the heater core hose ----> the intake manifold... after replacing both hoses (from the heater core and to the heater core from the intake/water pump) the leak stopped... now halfway through my car audio build it decides to leak again (right after i install my singer alternator too) so i got a Fel-Pro gasket kit (includes the upper intake gaskets and fuel injector O-ring) i heard this job is about 4-6 hours depending on how mechanically inclined you are (id say im average i did a few motor swaps in honda's and rebuilt my 4G63T motor twice lol) i guess i made this thread to see if anyone has any advice (already got a few tips) if they recently did one and to post pictures of the job if anyone needs reference to do it rather than paying 700-900 dollars ( i was quoted 600 from a local mechanic LOL) not sure if this is a good place to post this as there are tons of forums regarding this thing but im trying to be a more active member in more sub-forums rather than just hanging out in a few! (mods if this is useless and unwanted feel free to take out the trash) i will be updating tomorrow with videos/pics of how it goes if only i could have taken a vacation day and got paid for this bull!
  20. welp.... Lower intake gasket blew on my truck..... gonna have a fun day today :(

  21. batteries came!!!! but there new??!?!? like brand new from sonicelectronix.com (apparently my girlfriend and one of my best friends got me a early birthday present!!!!) ups kinda F'd up the outer boxes but manufacturers boxes look fine! no bulges/swelling/cracks all resting @ 12.7x+ gonna get a charger today and charge them up before installing them!!!! thanks again for all the info!
  22. @skyhighcaraudio i want to start a thread for jon aka skyhighcaraudio ive had 2 PERFECT transactions so far with him! first order was for the following (ordered middle of april sometime) 100 feet of 1/0 (half blue and half silver CCA) 32 1/0 ring terminals (half blue half silver) 4 ANL fuse blocks and 300 amp fuses the second order was for the following (ordered 3 days ago) (got it today unboxing video at bottom) 50 feet of 8 gauge (25 blue 25 silver) 20 8 gauge ring terminals (half blue half silver) 4 more fuse blocks and 300amp fuses great guy, super fast shipping and HELLA good prices anyone that needs anything involving wires/electrical hook ups talk to this guy! thanks again jon! http://www.youtube.c...4o&feature=mhsn
  23. Everyone in this thread is talking sense. It's always good to go big the first time so hopefully you don't have to worry about that part for a long time to come. So now just run a 65a then get a 200a and be done with it. On another note excessive is crazy for charging that much for a AD244 case alt as it works on so many vehicles and you can get a lot more amps out of it. yea i dont like to post quote from dealers or companies because they can vary (DC AUDIO does it a lot) and may be different in price from who you talk to.. but after seeing their price on a VERY common alternator case i quickly deleted the email and did more research honestly OP id say just do what you can afford... anything will be better than a dying alternator just dont want to see anyone piss away money on a glorified door stop
