  1. You all are correct, you can't messed up a sub with low power. my bad
  2. for less money you can get one of those hifonics brz line or 2 of audiopipe apsm-1500 both should be close to rated power
  3. i guess u got no choice lol, i would ease up on the gain and volume though when you play on it, I'm pretty sure you can sell that 1500 very fast to get you a beefier amp
  4. the subs more likley to poof on under powering than over powering, why dont you run 3 of these vvx and run it on 1.5ohm then run 4 when you upgrade your amp, you can still buy the 4
  5. for 4 subwoofer with dual 2ohm you will get either a 1 ohm load or a 4ohm load, it will be better to wire it to get a 1 ohm load from the SK 1500 and yes this will be under power you will only give the subs about 400watts each when rms is 600watts per sub, you probably better off getting 2 dual 4ohms and wire it doen to 1 ohm on a sk 1500, i think that will be a prefect match
  6. there are 2 skar vvx8 on sale at floridaspl for 220 shipped, you might be interested http://www.floridaspl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21388
  7. I followed Masterwill and got it from parts express price is almost the same
  8. yeah 1 12 is not gonna make it unless its 1000 or more watts
  9. parts express, it looks like this is the grill of choice for Skar set ups lol http://www.parts-express.com/wizards/searchResults.cfm?FTR=subwoofer+grill&search_type=main&WebPage_ID=3&searchFilter=subwoofer+grill&x=0&y=0
  10. not sure what tuning your thinking on a sealed box. when the prefab is on spec for cubic ft and mdf is at least 3/4 it is a good box prefab or not. you technically can tune sealed boxes... http://www.bcae1.com/spboxad1.htm edit 2: 99% of the time, prefabs are tuned in the 40's with like (sometimes less than) 10 sqin of port per cube. glue joints suck sometimes too and break free. Violet curve Green curve Red curve Enclosure volume = 2.68ft^3 Enclosure volume = 1.77ft^3 Enclosure volume = 4.68ft^3 Is this the tuning your talking about? of course different size box will tune differently

  12. whats the difference on a prefab sealed box as long as dimension and thickness is there and ill paint the inside for sealant?
  13. Yes im planning to hold on to it until a couple of months of playing in sealed, just need to find a sealed box
  14. if I go sealed on 2.5 cu ft per box I'm gaining 12 inches on length, 4 inches on depth and raise the height 1 inch which i dont mind. if i go 2.0 cu ft box size per sub will be like 18x11x18 LXWXH Right now my box is 44W x 17H x 19D= 2.76 cu.ft. per chamber
  15. I have a ported box right now for dual VVX 15, I dont push it to the max (only time was when metered) I was thinking if i put them on 2 separate sealed box recommended specs 1.75 to 2.5, I'm thinking about clost to 2.5 per sub, and doing i regain more truck space, i can stack them on top of each other if needed, or i can take one of them out if space is really needed. Im also thinking that the box will be manageable since im moving 1 sub at a time this dual sub box weighs a ton. So i want to know how much will i loose, right now I average 143db metered. that's why i was asking if anybody have a dual VVX on a sealed box and it will be great if they can post metered score if any.
  16. Just wondering if anybody has heard both sealed or ported and how does it sound sealed? Do you loose any Bass when sealed or does it go deeper? Most people i see run dual subs on ported just wondering if any runs them on sealed and if you have heard them on ported
  17. You should try 2 12" PSI platform 1, a friend of mine did 148db on those, sundown is pretty much the same as Skar but Skar is cheaper IMO http://www.floridaspl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22320&page=7
  18. Looking at the amplifier line of Skar SK 800.1D for 1 VVX SK 1500.1d for dual set up SK-2500.1d fod kinda max on dual setup
  19. I think safe to say, max daily drive for the VVX is about 1300 to 1500watts of course on the recommended box sizes, but looks like most people are runinng these under 1k and above 800w per sub
  20. I could've told you that lol, i have 2 VVX 15 and its rattling my SUV so much my rear view mirror wont stay up, i can't imagine what 4 15's will do to my car lol, u can probably tone down to 2 15's instead of going with 2 8's and deaden the hell out of the car
  21. video's I wish i can hear these vvx on sealed, i always loved sealed subs
  22. hit up Matt at BHE http://www.floridasp...isplay.php?f=43
