  1. agree 1000% with meade cause those are my thoughts on it also...
  2. he means when u were firing it forward was the trunk sealed off from the cabin or did u have gaps between your box and trunk (not sealed off)?
  3. was thinking the same exact thing...everthing i have ever read about trunks has suggested to fire forward sealed off or put the box all the way back against the trunk opening but still firing forward...here is a great link about getting trunks loud from termpro....and there are plenty of people that chime in who know what they're talking about, they give great suggestions, its really helpful... http://audioforum.termpro.com/ubb/ultimate...3/t/005684.html
  4. did u have it sealed off from the trunk before u turned it around? and what kinda car was it in??
  5. thank guys...means a lot comin from u meade....it defineately gave me the itch to finish it off like i planned. i was gonna be happy if i was in the 30's i never thought id do a 43.2...and i may have even peaked around 36hz...
  6. just got back from gettin metered at a local shop for my first time ever. using the termlab sensor placed in the passenger kick panel (meca style) in my 92 accord. (2) 10" RE SE's facing the front of the car, runnin off a RE12.1 (1200 watts) with 1/0 runnin directly to it from battery both positive and negative, 200amp alt, NSB 90 battery, big 3 upgrade in 1/0 gauge. box is about 5cubes after displacement with (2)4" aeros tuned to about 32hz. still havent sealed it off from the trunk but i plan on it. i can also swap those ports out, with one in plan on making tuned to about 50hz...setup is as seen below. so i peaked between 38-41hz. after some playing around i busted a 143.2 ...and i was seriously suprised. passenger door open with all the windows up and back seat folded down....so what do u all think? good? bad? let me hear it...
  7. that list sounds pretty complete, may wanna get some washers for the thread rod if you dont alread have them. what do u plan on doing for the electrical situation?
  8. that thing must have been sucking some serious power with (2)2400s and the car running...
  9. im pretty sure the logo is etched...could be wrong though
  10. was the car on or off during the run? what kinda alt you got if the car was runnin?
  11. that is friggin sweet ;D...those 40.1's sound like they are pretty badass
  12. mine did something similar. it would cut off from time to time unexpectedly...sometimes it would stay off for awhile and other times it would keep turning on and off. turns out that the ground wire in the wiring harness was barely hanging in there. so i just hard wired a ground and its all good now...so check all the grounding wires in the harness :^
  13. what kinda car you got?, cause surely you can upgrade alts without any mods. i went from a 90amp stock alt to a 200 amp iraggi alt...same size, bolt on. they should be able to get you one in the same size case i would think, but then again, maybe they cant...
  14. i would go a crx style...sub up/port back. 2.5cubes after all displacement with like 30square inches of port about 18" long...i think that tunes it to about 38 unless my math is off...which it probably is :-[
  15. taken from www.bcae1.com... Wire Gauge Recommended Maximum Fuse Size 00 awg 400 amps 0 awg 325 amps 1 awg 250 amps 2 awg 200 amps 4 awg 125 amps 6 awg 80 amps 8 awg 50 amps 10 awg 30 amps 12 awg 20 amps 14 awg 15 amps 16 awg 7.5 amps These are the recommended maximum fuse ratings for the corresponding wire size. Using a smaller fuse than what's recommended here will be perfectly safe.
  16. i squeezed about 5.5 cf before displacement out of my 92 accord sedan. i may have been able to get a bit more if i took some off the height and added some to the length...but that box was a absolute bish gettin in there.
  17. dont some spl competitors do that...place a piece of wood a few inches from the cone of the sub? isn't called like a 'loading wall' or something??
  18. meade...u coming to world finals? and if so, u bringin any vehicles...i know its a long ass haul for you and def. couldnt blame you if you arent, but i live in louisville and its like 15-20 minutes from me, and i am dying to see something from you
  19. thanks guys...and i know i should seal it off, just been too lazy. i had the last enclosure sealed off and it wanged. hopefully if i ever get off my lazy ass and seal it off it will get rid of some of this trunk rattle i got goin on and add some bass... ;D
  20. well, this is my first system but is my second box build (actually third-due to some of my faulty measurements the second box didnt fit-glad i test fitted before i finished it :-[) anyways here we go... under the hood... new iraggi 200 amp alt. i managed to somehow sqeeze a nsb 90 under the hood of my 92 accord... big 3 upgrade with 1/0...all soldered by the way...this electrical is overkill for the size of my system imo...but i need room to upgrade in the future ;D.. some fugly battery terminals i made out of 1/4" copper...ugly, but get the job done.. onto the box... about 5.7 cubes...5cubes after all displacement. i planned on doing swappable ports--(2) 4"aeros for daily tuned to 32 and a square port tuned to about 50 for comps (which i still have to remake) here is the sqare port. i gotta remake it still (been a real lazy ass this summer) but u get the idea.. the aeros...dont worry i used some plastic glue and then duct taped them here is the box covered in resin...i had to resin the outside because of a small leak in my trunk i cant find...didnt want the wood getting wet decided to use some 1/4" insert nuts for the swappable ports... test fitting the port and subs first time at a carpet job...the only side that needed to look decent was the front...and it does, so it works for me now this box was an absolute bish to get in my trunk...barely fit...here it is and my amp..and i know my wire is pinkish and pupleish...the company f'd up on that, but they also accidently sent me double the wire i ordered and didnt charge me for it, so i didnt complain...i ran 1/0 wire straight to the amp through some stinger gauge reducers. i also recarpeted the port since this pic so no wood is showing.. this box has been done for awhile and for some reason i still cant make myself finish it up by sealing it off from the trunk, even though i need to....maybe i will eventually get around to it...lol
  21. alpine cda7893...ive had it forever it seems...still holding strong
