    I like it, yeah mine seems like too much port. that seems weird only factoring in the main cabin area of the box, So the neg .1 is the area of the port essentially?

    Back to the drawing board for me guys. ive heard all kinds of things for many people on box design, many things contradicting. After looking through many different builds and doing research this is the box style i came up with, almost a T-Line style slot port. Are my numbers right to consider 3 common walls when computing this? Ive also heard to stay at 1.25 cubes for my 10 and ive seen some people running 2 cubes, i guess im shooting for 1.5. Decided to tune low at 32 for daily driving. Next thing is port area per foot, not sure what the SXX like but ive got 22 mm xmax to play, people say 12-16 but all the pros say 16-20 and to shoot for 20. Throwing in an extra baffle for rigidity and 45s on the port and rounded the ends off. Re SXX 10 sub is 1000 rms, pushing 1100ish rms with my hifonics 1200.1 to it at 1 ohm. Going into a ford focus hatchback Green light to build?!

    Question: Will you get a louder, better sounding speaker that is lower RMS powered by your head unit or running 100 watt rms mids without an amp?? Reason being...well I bought 4 infinity kappa 6x8 2 ways with the external crossover for about 70 a pair, not 100% satisfied with the lack of bass from them, i do not have an amp running on them yet but the upper registars sound very well. My Headunit is kinda garbage too. Will a 4 chan make a world of difference? suggestions? Also Why does everyone like rockford mids and highs? I dont understand they look like sony garbage, specs dont really show the best materials, and the freq response doesnt go that low.

    haha well its still in the works joe, i was just reviewing this and the "Front to Back = 9 3/4 x 10 1/2 Extension = 21 1/4 x 10 1/2" so i figured 31inches of length(9.25+21.75) x 1.75 wide x 10.5 into torres and got quite different from you. Im not bashing you, really im just trying to learn where im different/wrong here. I might be building one of these for a buddy is why im coming back to it. Thanks again joe for all of your help

    i must say tho this sxx pounds in that lil bassworx box, it was louder than 2 directed 15s powered about right ina sealed box tho. Im very excited to see where im at after this build. Any tips on bracing the aeros?

    yes but you look at the range which is between 12-17, the more port you have up till 17 generally the more spl u are supposed to have (depending on the woofer). I guess yeah i want to be tuned lower but i want it to be loud too

    Hey guys im working on figuring out where i want to be at tuning wise with my build. --RE SXX 10 d2 --Hifonics brz 1200.1 at 1 ohm. Im looking for a good all around daily driver with a possibility of a comp once in a blue moon. My current prefab box is garbage and is tuned at 46 hz and like .89 net cubes after displacements i figured out. Im aware but i got it for free. My new build will be 1.28 cubes net with 2 3" (rather than 1 4") because that puts me at 11 port area per foot. Aeros req 9-13 not 12-16. My question to everyone is will i be disappointed with tuning to 35hz vs 32hz as far hip-hop goes?? Ports can get $$ so im looking for some help from experience. My re seems like it can hit nice and low but my current box holds it back. My other option would be to make a box build at like 1.6 cubes tuned lower but would have less port per foot. (9ish) Anyone have a preference which they liked better throughout their various builds? I wish i could just build both and try em out but im a poor college student (

    After running those numbers in torres i get something totaly different man net vol is 1.17 at 34.99 hz with 12x28x13 with 1.75 x 31 inches of port. Factor in my SXX and its like just over 1 cube 37.29 hz....

    id do a brz 1700.1 or they have a zues thats 1500.1 i think too from hifonics. Im running a 1200.1 to my RE 10 and it slams

    What are they recommended to run at? My REs SXX 10 and previous SE were recommended at 34hz, im currently making a new box for my 10 sxx and its going to end up between 32.5 and 33 i think after everything
