Honestly, a lot of it is just about preferance. I tuned my first 2 SA15s to 34hz but know they are in a box tuned to 31-32hz which I like VERY much. What are your goals?

All the music I listen to inst altered. I started this thread just to see who.has done it or what it would be like. No because i'm doing it.or anything like that, so thanks. Gucci Mane plays low, yelawolf. All the music I listen to does. I had a previous box tuned to 35 hz and it hit lows and sounded good but I prefer my box now.which is tuned to 30 hz. I tuned that low so I would peak at a lower frequency, it peaks at 45 hz, i'm not.in competitions. I just like to enjoy my music.

I actually did something similar to this once, and it didn't sound that bad honestly. But then I built a new box, single chamber, with the proper port and air space, and the SQ blew me away! Not to mention I was a full 2 db louder on the TermLab. So yeah, you can do it, and it may work, but it's not ideal. I was hoping to hear someome opinion who had done it or close to. Thanks man!

Alright everybody.. Was driving to work and enjoying my subs and was just thinking.. I'm more of a SQ guy..not saying anything bad about SPL but I just enjoy lows so my box is tuned to 29-30hz. But what I was wondering was, what would happen say.. If you had two of the same subs, two of the same amps and each subs being powered on their own.. If you had one in it's own box tuned to 30hz and the other in a seperate box tuned to 40-45hz. Would you then get the best of both worlds? What would happen? And.. Would it be a bad idea if you have the space?

I quick tip, not sure if you're new to car audio or are getting into it now.. But be patient, patience is a key attribute in car audio, all the money saving, taking the extra time to make everything better, not look cheap. Just take your time and do things right, don't buy a cheaper product because that's all you can afford right now.. Keep your money, save it for something bigger and better. Good luck to you OP!
