why dont you try the AudioQue sdc 2.5? only 150 something and about as loud as an hdc3 from what ive read.

too many factors...im sure a bl can be louder than the dc and vica versa..but it all comes down to the box

it will make it louder on the inside....but some have said it did nothing for them.... it could either make it not as loud on the outside.....or stop annoying rattles that on some vehicles you can hear louder than the bass....

i havent had the chance to try the sdc series but ive read where people rated them very good and worth the buy....i wish i could help you out more but ive only dealt with the hdc3 series from them....
