Car could be on one voltage (stock alt) and have a secondary alt with higher voltage just feeding the amp... I did it for years on the CB... 12-14v for the truck and 16-21v for the amps I was running... As long as you keep your second charging system isolated you are good...

Changed my mind when I saw the evidence lol. Now I can do what I wanted to do when I originally thought it up, which was to put 2 caps on each of my amps. I think my thread about that is still around... But i think the debate is still going to be "How fast you can recharge them" And then as the data shows in one test the 1F was the better choice and the other one the 100F was... but in either case it helped... I am not an electrical engineer nor do I claim to know everything, but i think the caps help because the slew(reaction) time of the battery is slower then the reaction time of the cap... and just like your alternator is slower than your battery to provide on demand power... So depending on your application a cap MAY help...

I did my programming on the TRS-80 Model 4 (network4) We had a shared external hard drive of 30meg that you would have to turn on and wait about a min before booting any of the machines... I think we had about 20 to 25 machines that connected via twisted pair to the hard drive...

Packard Bell 486dx4 75mhz... 540meg hard drive that i compressed and got almost 900meg... It was a loaded machine for its time, 4x CD rom, 8meg Ram, 14.4k modem it was a screamer... Windows 3.11 for workgroups... and my first taste of 'online' BBS's and AOL...

How about the old TRS-80? I programmed in Basic and also Turbo Pascal while in high school... Then we upgraded to a Tandy 1000...
