i had the same amp and my alt is only 65 amps. but i had 0 gauge and a kinetic hc 600 in back ran it with the car off and still no probs.

I would also say its not done for i had to adjust my buddies integra the same thing happend to him i loosend it and its doin fine now.

its starting to get alot warmer out and of course you could try to mount you amp somwhere else or even get a fan from radio shack and see if you could see dif results. if your runnin at 3 ohms thats weird for that amp to overheat.

alot has to do with the vehicle and how the windshield slants.
