    The hardened suraface such as resin will increase the tuning of your box, Im not sure about the elastomeric but I figure it wouldnt absorb any energy but actually increase it because of flex in the material but I could be totally wrong on that...

    When I dropped my truck 4-6 after my box and everything it was about 8 inch drop, I added 1 leaf to each spring in the rear and a set of Gabriel Adjustable Air Shocks, and made the ride of the truck way better as a result...
