  1. Approximately 31mm xmax - one way (xmech is prob quite a bit more)....31mm doesn't sound like much but Jacob stated that most manufacturers xmax ratings arn't accurate because they arn't klippel verified, so 31mm klippel verified xmax is quite a bit more than most other drivers out there. I thought the xmax was 50mm .. damn that's not a improvement over what I have now.. 28m one way
  2. You may pay more but a properly built and tune box will be worth it in the end.. I had a 12 mtx 9500 in a sledgehammer box and it was loud but didn't sound so good. I looked around for a box but everyone was saying go custom so I did and Now I always go Custom.. That 12 was hitting Lows like a 18" would.. Made me wonder why the hell they sold it with a sledgehammer box..
  3. Update: EMF Facebook Quote.. Zv4's are delayed longer than anticipated. Its been taking some extra time to get the wire for the coils imported from Denmark. End of July is the new ship time. https://www.facebook...100000487365727
  4. Update: EMF Facebook Quote.. Zv4's are delayed longer than anticipated. Its been taking some extra time to get the wire for the coils imported from Denmark. End of July is the new ship time. https://www.facebook.com/SundownOnly?__user=100000487365727 So hopefully the x-series still on track for end of this month..
  5. Sundownz quote : Production T/S spec will be coming in soon as well -- likely before the end of this week.Z v.4 production should complete fairly soon as well; we had some delay on the voice coils as the flat wire is imported from Denmark for those coils. Either way X and Z v.4 ETA should be within a few weeks of the original end of June time frame.- So to me it seems like sometime in mid- july...
  6. Im going outta town myself that weekend and would like to know myself... I can get my neighbor to get it but would need to let him know ahead of time...
  7. When will you post t/s specs? And does within a few weeks mean sometime in july?
  8. I'm gettinf 2 also! Only preordered one though :/ oh well. What amp? I order 2 15s for Now and if i like them i will order 2 more and have 4 in a wall..
  9. I have seen the X series t/s but never the zv4 yet... maybe those the one you thought you saw..
  10. If the t/s parameters are as close as the listed ones per driver...25hz, maybe lower. Depends on how much volume is in your enclosure, what kind of performance you want, how much power you have, your vehicles airspace, location of the enclosure, blah blah blah. Enclosure building is full of little things that some people overlook. If you take your time (and wait until you have the drivers), build it right and you'll be impressed with the result. I know you have the enclosure build already but it seems like you're rushing...I'm just sayin' Not hatin' just reflecting on my past experience. Yes Im already working on the box for them.. 10cuft.. but after port displacement it will be smaller.. I just would like to drop them in when they get here and not have to want on the box to be made.. I go the the bass-off shows EVERY weekend and Im just ready for my upgrade HOPEFULLY...lol .. I can put away with box designs on off seasons.. But the t/s parameter should be in shortly.. and than i can choose from there..
  11. I know these are best used for lower frequency bass but how would they like a 35hz tune box? Or would they prefer something lower like 30hz? Need to know asap so I can make port..
  12. Any new info on testing? Or about the sub ? I don't see that there has been any new testing going on as of recently that Jacob himself will have posted anywhere considering he has been at home with the new baby. He is not the only person at sundown... I'm sure more than 1 person is working in testing...
  13. So what's the update on testing? Any new i Any new info on testing? Or about the sub ?
  14. he wants more lows so a larger box would be better.. Im sorry but im learning alot from you right now.. a larger box will give him more xmax for better lows and plus tuning a 4 cuft is easier than a 2cuft box.. All having a larger box does is relieve the driver of some of the back pressure pushing back at it causing less control over the linear motion. You lose control over the sub also by playing below tuning which is why it is recommended to set your subsonic filter as close to tuning as possible. When you lose control you run the risk of damage: such as the coil rubbing and bottoming out. I would suggest you to sit back, don't touch any equipment, read much more of the forums, and ask educated questions related to box design and a system's electrical. while im building my box off these specs and im going to be happy with it.. 10 cuft box total 8 cuft =subs 2 cuft =port If your using 10's or 12's send me your motors after you blow them. im done..lol.. and its for 2 15's
  15. he wants more lows so a larger box would be better.. Im sorry but im learning alot from you right now.. a larger box will give him more xmax for better lows and plus tuning a 4 cuft is easier than a 2cuft box.. how so? the Fi Q has the xmax of 28mm and have no problem getting low it has to do with the tuning. bigger box is more efficient which will get you louder with less power not hit lower notes it easier to tune a bigger box lower than a smaller box and to hit lower notes 25hz> you need xmax and air. a bigger box is going to allow for more xmax to produce the lows needed to be louder.. to do it with a small box you will need more power..
