fritosaregood Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 I should have roughly 200 Amps and prolly 3 batterys... I guess i'll try it... If it don't work I'll order another sub and run em at 1 ohm hahaha I thought you would be broke from just the one sub and amp, and all the wood and stuff. seller feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=61719 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=68281 build log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?showtopic=44800 Gf's build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/54346-kickergirls-camaro-new-box-pg-5/#entry753970
bumonskateboard6 Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 Don't run it at 0.5 ohm...I swear everyone seems to have a huge boner for low ohms these days, the amp puts out over 2k watts at 1 ohm and is stable there, run it there, if you want to have more power save more money and buy a bigger amp. Low voltage doesn't blow amps. That's a myth. A router that does the sub holes makes rounded edges also?
AMI CUSTOMS Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 Do 2 ohm daily .5 for burp nothing wrong with what you already got if you do that. If you are wanting more power then suck it up and step up in amp size. Lol or just get the copper dual 2. protocaster69 Posted February 4, 2011 Author Report Posted February 4, 2011 Well the sub i'm going to run off this 2200w rms amp is rated at 1000w rms and people run 2 2200w amps per sub... So how is that different than running and amp below the ohm load its rated to be "stable"?

AMI CUSTOMS Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 Plan and simple you drop that amp below 10 volts it is done. So dont believe what everyone is trying to help you with and go try it out if you can keep voltage up then great but it only takes one time to screw up and then done and send back to aq. Skullz Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 2200w is quite a bit of power @1ohm and if you can do well on making an enclosure you'll be very well served with that for a while. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
protocaster69 Posted February 4, 2011 Author Report Posted February 4, 2011 I'm not disagreeing with what they are sayin... I'm just asking a simple question... If people often way over power the rating of the HDC3 subs with 2 aq2200s and i've even heard 2 aq3500s... hence pushing way past what they should handle... why would pushing what the amp can supposedly do be bad? I realize that its not recomended by the manufacture... But once again... Neither is putting 7000w on the 1000w rms HDC3 sub... I'm not trying to disagree... I'm just wondering what the difference is?
Skullz Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 The difference is they're putting clean unclipped power to them and if you try over powering them by running @.5ohm and clipped you'll be one unhappy customer. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
