battery isolator for dual batteies?

do you have to use one of these to run 2 batteries? i will have 2 red tops under my hood and have seen that everyone uses a battery isolator. i dont see why though if you want to USE both. but they say its so the batteries dont drain each other or something.

if your gonna play you music for long periods of time with vehicle off then YES

if yours for the most part play it with vehicle on the NO

IMO id stay away from them, more unwanted resistance

no only time i play with it off is for like one song, maybe.. but would it be good to have one just in case? i dont have that much power anyway. about 500watt rms.

I'd stay away from them. They are nice if you like to bump with your car off and you have less than 1000 watts, but they will reduce the life of your batteries if you keep draining one completely and they will bottleneck your charging power into that battery, and the cheaper ones have a shorter lifespan. Just don't get one and leave your car idle if you want to bump while parked, problem solved.

Nathan from XS POWER recommended that you do not use them, they dont really do any good unless you want one battery fully charged for when you start, but who cares, if you have 2 or 3 semi charged car audio battires, it will start just fine
