I have a 2006 Kia Specta with a 2.0 auto trans. My system I have right now is 4 type r 12"s with 2 Alpine MRP-1000 amps and 1 MRP-f300.. I have having severe issue with my voltage dropping down to 11.3 while running the vehicle. I was wondering who may have an ALT for my car and what is needed to install it... If it is a plug and play? upgrade any kind of wiring or anything? I am clueless with the alternater part of the build. Thank you

ok.. will do that first time tomorrow. What about wiring? any kind of upgrade needed during installing a high output alt?

You should have already upgraded your wiring. The big 3 is the first thing you should do when dealing with voltage drop and maybe even the first thing you should do regardless of voltage drop.

back off of the bass for a while, until you have found a good solution. you don't want to kill your amp or anything else due to low voltage.

No, you don't need an alternator, you can just get a good battery or 2. I think some of the people on here get aroused by the idea of installing an alternator, they get horny just thinking about them.

ok... will upgrade my wiring tomorrow. Will do 0 gauge wiring for those... thank you ....... So get 2 batteries instead of an alt? Your vehicle runnings off the alt once it is running. Why wouldnt you change it to a higher current?
