would this crazy box design work??

Recommended Posts

i came up with this idea today cuz i heard that i needed more cone area to get a better chance in producing a hair trick, while at the same time be efficient on trunk space. so i was wondering if this would work out or was it just a waste of time for me to make it on sketchup?? the height is suppose to be 23", the top ones would be 2 SA-12's and the front ones would be SA-15's. please help me out here im a noob. i need box design help, and oh this is going in a 96 Suburban. and i just made up the insides idk what the best way would be.

thanks in advance. :good:

first, one toic is sufficient. second dont put two different size subs in one enclosure. the required airspace tuning and crossover frequencies are different.

No. Your dream of hairtricking in a burban with not much cone area is not going to happen. Get 4 sa15's and put some decent power to them and tune LOW and give up your dream of cargo area and you'll probably get a small hairtrick

c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old.

i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer.

im no expert but Im guessing your first issue there would be using different sized woofers in the same box, as well as having the woofers at different angles in the same baffle setup.

masterbation is free, and even saves you money.sorry but someone had to say it

sorry, Jimmy...beat you to it (no pun intended)

Have you tried downloading the Torres enclosure software in the enclosure part of the forum? If not, DO IT! You can spend hours on there messing around with deminsions and tuning. It is not worth the hassle of building seperate enclosures for different size subs. Try selling the ones that you dont want to fund 15's. Doing so will allow you to fine tune your enclosure and know what the outcome will be.

Tuning depends on your overall port area. LOW for hair tricks would be like 30hz where as HIGH for spl comps would be like 45-50hz.
