SPLadd1ct
Hello SMD, I saw an Audioque gain knob for sale and was wondering if it would work for my Sundown 4500D amplifier? The reason I ask is because the gain knob I got with my Sundown 4500D doesn't have a clipping indicator and the Audioque gain knob does. Can anybody shed some light on the situation for me? Thanks fellas Quote 2011 Ford Ranger Sport 4.0 v6 2 sundown audio prototype nsv4 15s crossfire 4k wired to 0.4 ohm 15 banks of maxwell 3.0 caps @ 18v triple alts (x2 us alt 250's, x1 singer 320) 153 at 23hz
C-Fizzy
Adding a gain knob that has a clipping indicator will NOT work for a different amp. It may still control the bass, but it will not tell you if you are clipping. hdorre
No, they don't have clipping indicators. Keep an eye out for one that Meade and his buddy are working on though. Bakerman
Yeah, i tried this...actually posted up a similar post, got the same advice, and tried it anyways. STUPID on my part...it doesn't work...different wiring schematics. Got alot of smoke from the gain knob.

The knob just has a light, the amp actually has to have the pieces to control the light. Common sense should tell you that.
C-Fizzy
Alot of companies knobs will work with others amps. A buddy was using a D.A.T. knob on an atomic amp. Controlled the bass just fine, but the power light on the knob didnt work. Quote under construction I hate People with crappy primered cars rolling on hubcaps that are louder then me. u hate c-fizzy? But still, for the most part I would be scared to break a amp just cause I used the wrong bass knob. I used a US Amps(XT) knob with a Sundown amp before, but I knew it was the exact same knob and they was built at the same place.
