kickass audio Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 the 5 port holes is just a smartass reply to some dumbass on youtube that calls himself "dr subwoofer" Personally id use 3/4 mdf for yours (im using 1.5" thick just to be overkill and have no box flex) and i would use two window braces inside the box. if you give me a few days i can sketch up a drawing for you similar to my box design i have. It sounds 100,000 times better and I can actually notice a difference when I tuned the amp correctly. Wow... went from kinda weak nose tickling bass to all out dash/windshield shaking bass. Shit flex's nicely... So much for leaving the windows up when its cranked... god damn roof screams for help hahaha!! THANKS BRO

It sounds 100,000 times better and I can actually notice a difference when I tuned the amp correctly. Wow... went from kinda weak nose tickling bass to all out dash/windshield shaking bass. Shit flex's nicely... So much for leaving the windows up when its cranked... god damn roof screams for help hahaha!! THANKS BRO Alright thats great to hear. glad that i was a good help for you. so i take it you dont need the box sketch for it now? And with the tuning it makes a whole hell of a lot of difference with how it slams. i cant wait to hear mine when i get the box made for the smd. One thing i learned from my 12" solox and the box it had is that tuning makes a world of difference. i had my solox in a 60 some odd Hz box and it would slam to all hell on songs with high bass notes but on low ones like hip-hop it would bottom out so bad that its the reason my solox's voice coil had overheated and burnt also it had an intense amount of coil rub on it. This time im going to make it all right and NOT blow up my sub. lol. Yea ex-nay on the sketch but you were plenty help. It's nice to have 15's that sound like 15's now. I will say this though... the box is a damn coffin. thank god I have an SUV
