Alex Avila
I've got a 1988 crx si ground pounded. It is a work in progress (as always with me). There is a video on YouTube from last year. That setup did 150db on music, sealed at the dash. Peaked at 56hz with 151db and did 147db at 30hz. Two DD9917's (very old, beat up subs), running off of two DDM2a's with two batteries. DDS4a running old school Boston pro series mids and highs. I plan on reconing the subs and adding more power in the future.

TheNewbie
I'm well on the way I have dropped the peak freq down to 42 and can do well over 150 on music with a single sub application. lets see it first then talk about it afterwards Hey i just noticed you are pretty close to where i live. Haven't found that yet, thought it was pretty tight haha random but anyways. Whatdup Check out my build log: http://www.stevemead...60#entry1958353 Different folks have different strokes. BallzFast
the only reason i am thinking of such a big system in my crx is cause i want people to feel me coming :dj: . and i am tired of always having the small weak system. the best DB i have done was 110 in a 91 buick century with two 12 inch jensens with a home made box. i want mid to high 50's in the Crx :diablo: my friend has an s-10 with a single sa 8" sub in a small box he made and 800 watts and it hits 146db. he plays music and does spl.maybe you need to look at a box like his.i had a '88 crx before i got my supra and there is plenty of room for a system like he has in back. 03 Santa Fe E A 200 amp alt,JVC AVX840,kenwood 6.5 fr speakers, eclipse 6.5 rears,mids/high amp XTA-2160, sub amp XTA-5000d,0 guage throughout,batts-front/1 batcap 2000,rear/ batcap4000,2 C&D Dynasty agms, subs 2 DC XL M1 15"s in a music box tuned to 28hz....for now. windowtinter
our shop crx did mid 158's on a AC mic (from what i can tell its about 5db off a TL) peaking at 40 with 3800ish clamped. B pilar wall two orion hcca 15's tuned right around 36hz doubled up the power and it was wayy louder never metered but would be scared to say it would do 155-156 on a TL with about 7500watts clamped, lost coils shortly there after reason it never got remetered. so yes if done right a GP CRX is not that crazy of an idea. sactownstang
With numbers hitting over 153 on music, I predict their will be damage to the car soon after. Pounding those levels on 20+ yr old car will take a toll. Theres a few other issues that can also pop up. They were economy cars, not 150+ spl beaters 20 yrs later. I salute all crx users that are ground pounders, but if u really are u already feel the pain i am describing.
