rubbernutz1
o2 sensor could be going... Edited out the rest as you already said it i agree if the O2 sensor is at the end of its life it will kill your mileage. try replacing them expensive fuckers and see if you git your mileage back
JaM Customs aka mprete
no, dont replace your o2 sensors. that wont be your problem. like i said in my first post its probably because of letting your car warm up, and yes winter driving is hard on your vehicle. it takes longer to get fully warmed up which gives you worse gas mileage because it takes longer to get into closed loop, or into fuel control. winter will do that. if it keeps going lower then that might be a problem. if you really want to figure out the problem you need a scan tool and you need to take a look at your long and short term fuel trim and your o2 readings. dont just replace parts. dereileak
I live in mn too, and my gas mileage has sucked something horrible this winter, down to even 9.8mpg, but that was in part to my o2 sensor not working right, dont just throw parts at it, unless there like maintenance parts which you know you need to replace, you need a good scan tool to see what you car is thinking and doing, then go from there, but overall, it seems like this winter has just eaten my gas horribly!!!!! with gas prices up to almost 3.50, every mile counts!!!! I may make a full switch to e85 as my van is a flex fuel and seems to run it better then gas surprisingly!! dereileak
I wonder if they are filling our gas with water, cause I live in minnesota, cause I gained mpg when running e85 which doesnt make any sense Quote 2006 Mazda3 Hatchback Black 5 Spd ManualPioneer 4300DVD2 Sundown SA-12 (34hz Tune, 3.22 cubes, 14.5 inches per cube, Triple Baffle)Kicker 10ZX2500.1 (2845 RMS) Sub AmpKicker 11ZX650.4 (705 RMS) Mid Amp -- (3 Amps)Kicker KQ3 Active CrossoverKicker KQ30 EqualizerKicker 09QS60.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones)Kicker 09QS65.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones) - (3 Sets)2/0 Gauge Electron Beam Technologies (3 Runs, 2 +, 1 -) 1/0 Gauge KNU Kollasal Flex (1 Run for -) 300 Ft Kicker X-Series 16 Gauge Speaker WireXS Power D3400 (Rear)XS Power D3100 (Front)Singer Externally Regulated Alternator (Being Built)+ The Love for Car Audio and BASS <3UBL Build Log <------- Click Here-------> Normal Build Log (For Comments)

Ao1FTW
I think its just the cold weather. My car is like that too, I went from 27+ down to 22 once winter came around. If it doesn't start to change when it gets warmer I would start to look into it more. Check your tire pressure too! white4d96
Fuel filter needs to be replaces every 50,000miles might want to check that Try like 15k. I change mine at 15 and there is a BIG difference in restriction between the old and new. Run your filter to 50k and it will probably be plugged. It's like a <$10 part, why cheap out?
