With 130k miles on the clock, you may want to go ahead with doing a coolant flush, making sure the plugs and wires have been changed, ONLY go with AC Delco as these cars like to misfire with any other plugs/wires, on the 3.8 the UIM/LIM (Upper intake manifold, lower intake manifold) gaskets tend to go bad, and the coolant elbows should be replaced too. If you do a coolant flush, don't re-fill with dexcool, change to the green coolant instead.

i know this is a old post.. but i had to get my word in.. i work for a gm dealership.. ac delco plugs suck ass.. in my years BOSCH platinum plugs works much better or the new E3 plugs..

and also if the car comes with dexcool (orange) antifreeze it requires that from the manufacturer.. dexcool has different cooling properties than standard green antifreeze..\\

my wife has a 2005 G6..and it uses dex cool also.. i literally went to the dealership we bought it from and asked if i flushed the collant and added differnt.. he said i would void the warranty and they would basically not honor the work done.. granted yes u have a used car.. but stay with what factory suggests

I am using ONLY GREEN coolant. Dex-cool is JUNK. EVERY gasket minus the oil pan and front cover has been replaced. I am using Autolite plugs as recommended by ZZP. They are also a few degrees colder too. Car runs GREAT. I have removed the dex-cool from every car and truck I have owned since it ate the gaskets in my 1997 Blazer. If its good enough to cool grandpa's big block I'm sure it will be fine in my V6....

lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz.

Pretty sure it's all been flushed and filled with green since the top swap

Since the day I bright her home Teddy. The FIRST thing I did was have Kurt at Swift look it over and the dex-cool was already looking like dirt. So I paid him to do it. It did it a good flush again when we tore down the block though. We also changed the oil after about 5 miles and again after ~50 to make sure they was nothing in the oil either.

lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz.

also i seen major red lights on the rockford amp// clipping? or is that the battery meter thng.. looks like output tho

The Red LED's don't mean clipping in output side. Red LED's on voltage side mean that you are below 13 volts.

Im pretty sure the blower, heads, Lower intake Manifold, and Headers would void the warranty If I had one long before the color of the coolant LOL....

The trans is the weak spot in these cars, that's why I already bought an extra. The 3800 impala Is a great car. I love it.
