With 130k miles on the clock, you may want to go ahead with doing a coolant flush, making sure the plugs and wires have been changed, ONLY go with AC Delco as these cars like to misfire with any other plugs/wires, on the 3.8 the UIM/LIM (Upper intake manifold, lower intake manifold) gaskets tend to go bad, and the coolant elbows should be replaced too. If you do a coolant flush, don't re-fill with dexcool, change to the green coolant instead.

i know this is a old post.. but i had to get my word in.. i work for a gm dealership.. ac delco plugs suck ass.. in my years BOSCH platinum plugs works much better or the new E3 plugs..

and also if the car comes with dexcool (orange) antifreeze it requires that from the manufacturer.. dexcool has different cooling properties than standard green antifreeze..\\

my wife has a 2005 G6..and it uses dex cool also.. i literally went to the dealership we bought it from and asked if i flushed the collant and added differnt.. he said i would void the warranty and they would basically not honor the work done.. granted yes u have a used car.. but stay with what factory suggests

I am using ONLY GREEN coolant. Dex-cool is JUNK. EVERY gasket minus the oil pan and front cover has been replaced. I am using Autolite plugs as recommended by ZZP. They are also a few degrees colder too. Car runs GREAT. I have removed the dex-cool from every car and truck I have owned since it ate the gaskets in my 1997 Blazer. If its good enough to cool grandpa's big block I'm sure it will be fine in my V6....

cool just saying that if you did all this to a car under warranty we would deny you..

Im pretty sure the blower, heads, Lower intake Manifold, and Headers would void the warranty If I had one long before the color of the coolant LOL....

Dexcool is complete horse shit. If you have the tiniest bit of air in your coolant system, it will eventually turn the coolant mixture into mud and well before the 5 year mark. Why do you think all these antifreeze makers are making dexcool replacements? Why do you think there's a class-action lawsuit against GM regarding dexcool? It's because I just had to replace the whole coolant system in my 03 impala just like a whole bunch of other people with dexcool systems. Radiator, hoses, thermostat, water pump all after only 115k miles and just a year after it's 4th flush, which shouldn't be until after 20 years or 200,000 miles!

Fuck this GM shit, I'm buying a Hyundai. 10 year warranty and they actually stand behind it!

EDIT: Sorry to shit all over your thread. What you did with your 'pala is amazing, bro.

lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz.

dexcool cost me $1088 in repairs and now I need LIM gaskets replaced :trippy:

Dex-cool cost me 5,200.00 In My 97 blazer, I had to scrap my 1996 Blazer thanks to Dex-cool. LilTeddyP JUST put a motor in his 1997 Jimmy thanks to Dex-cool. Its a rough subject lol. ANY car I buy the FIRST thing I will do it THOROUGHLY flush the dex-cool out in place of the 'Green' coolant.

I used 24" led strips from Autozone. I didn't take too many pics as it was 14 degrees outside :(. It was actually kinda simple though.

I make my panels out of 1/4" Plywood. I used 1/4" Plexi so in the back I cut a square out of 3/4" MDF to act as a ring to sucure the plex and the lights. When I mounted the 3/4" to the 1/4 plywood I used small pieces of 1/4" to create a channel for the plexi to be slid into. I than mounted the 2 24" LED strips to the top and bottom of the 3/4" square. To finish it off I screwed a piece of 1/4" on to the 3/4" square to keep all the light in. Like I said it was simple but I have built a lot of finshing panels.

lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz.

Nice man! And obviously u bought the white LEDs nice! Diggin it man! But like I said u should pick a nice color spray paint and paint the back of the plexi, gives it a BEAUTIFUL look and dims the light a lot. Just look at my box. Thats how its made. Painted metallic silver behind plexi
