BigYellowBlur78 Posted March 5, 2011 Author Report Posted March 5, 2011 Ok, thanks for the input... I think I'll go with 4 15" L7 's...
01 S-10 Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 Ok, thanks for the input... I think I'll go with 4 15" L7 's... Check out the Sundown sa-15's. The Kickers will get loud but I think the Sundowns would sound better TDH FTW !!!
kirill007 Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 Why kicker L7's? You can get better for less money. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
BigYellowBlur78 Posted March 5, 2011 Author Report Posted March 5, 2011 Why kicker L7's? You can get better for less money. I was planning on using all Kicker speakers in my doors, pillars etc.. so just to keep it all the same... I'm still in the planning stage of this build.. I really don't have a budget, but I still don't want to spend gobs of $$. I want to do it right the 1st time...
kirill007 Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 I would look into other equipment, less mainstream. I'm not saying kicker is bad, because it isn't but you can get better for the same amount of dollars. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
BigYellowBlur78 Posted March 7, 2011 Author Report Posted March 7, 2011 What would be some good subs then, price is really an issue. I would like to keep the whole build under $5000, subs, components, batteries, amps, wires etc...
chevyhoe08 Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 what is your budget? I used to be a huge kicker fan and at one point I ran 4 - 12" L7's on a kicker 2500.1. I now rock Fi and i got to say that i get way more air movement. if you want to move some major air go with a different brand sub. 2-18" Fi Btls 2-RF T2500-1bd box 14cu.ft after displacement tuned @ 32hz. Boon Posted March 8, 2011 Report Posted March 8, 2011 theres a guy that can hairtrick with 1 12" in his trunk, im just saying. Who? And a proper, window all the way down hairtrick, not some pussy 4" cracked window with some hair dangling in it on a windy day? It takes a decent pile of cone area and power to do a hairtrick. I think 4 beefy 12's on a good 4-6kw might just do a little one. 10.x volts fo' life!
Ambitionz Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Shit I have done hairtrick with 2 12s soundstream t5s with a 1500.1 kicker amp lol
RAM_Designs Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Definitely stick with four 15's if you're doing a wall in that truck. To do 12's is just a waste of real estate on the front of the box.
