fecupe2001 Posted March 5, 2011 Report Share Posted March 5, 2011 Hey guys, there are tons of things that i know and a lot more that i don´t , i´ve always seen people routing the edges of the box and i know for sure that you can gain some tenths on the termlab by doing this, also, it looks tight IMO hehe , anyways , my question is, how you guys do it without damaging the "razor" (english sucks hehe) of the router with the screws???? i mean, i have to screw the box together before routing the edges so that´s why i´asking!! I get a "countersink" bit, which actually makes a hole a couple of cm deep that are just bigger than the screw head, leaving the screw below the surface of the wood. I pull them out one line of screws at a time, route my edges, then put them back in, put a little bondo over them. The bondo works if you are not covering in carpet, but painting or covering in rhino lining. Just gives it a smooth look. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Deeper? that´s a good option? i mean, wouldn´t the router still reach the screw?? No. The router bit doesn't eat away that much wood lol. And you can adjust how much you want to take off. I go over screws/nail gun nails all the time. Just go slow. You go quick it'll catch and not be good. Blade is still sharp too. Quote 2006 Nissan Z Track.
