Black Viper Posted March 7, 2011 Report Share Posted March 7, 2011 I was wonderign if anyone can help me? I have 3 Type R 12s and i was trying to figure out a good amp that I could use for them. I was looking to see about running them off of one amp but 3 D4 12s give me 2.67ohms. SO I would need an amp that puts out over [email protected]. Any suggestions? Bakerman Posted March 7, 2011 Report Share Posted March 7, 2011 Instead of wiring the speakers in a series/parallel, you could wire them all in parallel. You got 6 voice coils total, each at 4ohms a piece. If you wire all of them to your amp in parallel, that would be 4/6, which would give you a .6666666 ohm load. The Rockford Fosgate T2500-1bdCp is "rated" for 2500 at 2 ohms and 1500 @ 4 ohms. I would expect just over 2kwrms at 2.67 nominal. That way when you upgrade your system you already have an amp with power to spare. Its also cheaper than the Rockford with more power.
