Instead of wiring the speakers in a series/parallel, you could wire them all in parallel. You got 6 voice coils total, each at 4ohms a piece. If you wire all of them to your amp in parallel, that would be 4/6, which would give you a .6666666 ohm load. It would be much easier, not to mention probably cheaper, to find an amp capable of producing that power at .5 ohms.

I was wonderign if anyone can help me? I have 3 Type R 12s and i was trying to figure out a good amp that I could use for them. I was looking to see about running them off of one amp but 3 D4 12s give me 2.67ohms. SO I would need an amp that puts out over [email protected]. Any suggestions?

The Rockford Fosgate T2500-1bdCp is "rated" for 2500 at 2 ohms and 1500 @ 4 ohms. I would expect just over 2kwrms at 2.67 nominal.

It's also cheaper than the Rockford or the Kicker.

You could also strap 2 Audioque AQ1200Ds. Each amp will see 1.3 ohms nominal.

OR an Audioque 3500D. It does 2600 at 2 ohms. and 4300 watts at 1 ohm. That way when you upgrade your system you already have an amp with power to spare. Its also cheaper than the Rockford with more power.

(P.S Is this turning into a competition of how many amp combinations we can come up with? I think so.)
