100% Kicker + XS POWER + KNU = Awesomeness! 3/12

Recommended Posts

Thats a hell of a start there, good job.

You'll like the QS65.2s. I have been pretty happy with mine.

If you get the chance to bi-amp them or can remove the passive crossover all to geather they will come alive for you, so think about keeping your 2nd 4 channel amp.

I was shocked at the output change.

LOL everyone knows that I'm a big Kicker fan and I'm always happy to see others running Kicker, keep it up :)

how much power can you send to those tweeters safely? I was looking at the manual on how to biamp, and they show using the crossover, do you still use it for biamping? I have had the QS 60.2 in for about a year, love those, and I picked these up for a future install :D I want to biamp them, but wasn't sure about the benefits vs all the work

That is not accurate for your resting voltage. When you turn on all your accessories your voltage is going to drop especially if you don't have your amps on an on/off switch. Your batteries most likely rest at 12.8v-12.9v

I'm around 125 watts per each mid and 125 per each tweeter. (125x4)

I have never used the crossovers in a bi-amp set up but there should not be any negative issues from doing this, only positives.

My set up is fully active and to do that with Kicker amps you would need a signal processor because I don't believe that their amps give you the ability to bandpass your signal to be able to run the mids with the proper frequency range.

This is why I run a Sundown SAX-100.4D. It allows me to bandpass the mids and also gives me the ability to pick how steep of a crossover slope I want to use.

wow, I didnt know that those tweeters could take that much power :D I will have to biamp them for my next car, looking at getitng a mazda3 2005 hatchback, specifically this one, Mazda Link think that would give me enough room for my 2 15's? and 3 amps :D what you think I could get the price down to on that sucker? I love everything about it, colors, manual, interior, I would put some black rims on it, and a new exhaust, double din sony headunit, and be rocking!!!

Dude that fucking Mazda is PIMP !!!!!

I don't have a history of researching Mazda's so I don't know what you could get the price down too.

Ya go ahead and bi-amp your next setup so you can get more experience with high end component sets. To bi-amp with passive X-overs the only x-over you need on an amp is a high pass and shoot for around 60 to 8 0 hertz.

I like to use the 4th Chevelle album Vera-something or other LOL can't remember the name of the album but the drums on track 2,3,and 4 are very potent.

I turn my crossover up past 100 hertz and turn my stereo up to my maximum loudness and slowly turn my highpass crossover down until I hear the mids pop on the drum beats. Then I turn the crossover back up a little until the popping stops and that is about as low as you can go with out damaging your mids.

Since these components aren't cheap they are able to go a lot lower then your average mids that are on the market.
