What Size Alt Am I Needing?

currently running: 180amp HO alt from ohio gen. 5 yellow tops, 2 18" BTLs off a HK 4000d modded, 8 runs of 0 gauge. just cant keep my voltage at steady says at 13v when im moving with the system up, and tries to stay at 12v when the system is playing when im sittin still. any recommendations......thanks guys

id say your gain is set too high or somethin. you should have a plenty strong electrical there. if you have the big 3 with all the other stuff you have ou should be fine.

I would double check your charging system. Even with a power hungry amp like that HK, You should see a better charge then that, unless your running it full tilt all day long.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)

either it what the other guys have said or that 180 alternator can't keep up with powering those big amps. i'd look into getting a bigger alternator or another 180 so you'll have a dual alternator setup. you're running alot of power and i know that 180 can't keep up.
