iKidwell
I'd do 30-32hz. Same 5ft^3 you were thinking for volume. I was thinkin on my volume to be 40 on my hu. i wouldn't do 5 ft^3 depending on the power you're running..if you're gonna give it under 3000 rms i would do like 4.5 or so, over 3k rms do 3.5-4...pretty sure steve only runs his 18's in like 5.5 or so..might be wrong though c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old. i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer. 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan Build in Progress

Sammitch0
Shop, like me. Assumes you're running a good 2-3kw of power. What type of electrical do you have? Stock? Do you realize 30hz @ 3kwrms is twice as hard to achieve with steady voltage as 45hz @ 3kwrms? Guy was probably saying your electrical will be toast off 1 hour play with 30hz tuning. I hope you have a good 300amps or so and 2-4 batteries. Sammitch0
Let's see here... It takes 210amps to run 3kwrms. (if you're doing that much.) and a good battery to back it. Plus 60-90amps for the vehicle, so thats about 300a and another battery. You WONT do 3kw or even 2kw @ 14.4v with 30hz tuning. You may have 15v now but that wont last when you full tilt a 3kw amplifier into a 30hz tuned subwoofer. Youll be fine but dont expect 15v or even 14.4v just sayin, if I was that guy at the shop thats what I would have said.
