do not to powerbastards. there is a reason that the dc and mechmans are more money. because they actually do what they claim.

x2 that 250 amps could be at 5k RPM which you would most likely not be at.

not saying that its junk. but thats how they can tell you its 250 amps

Well i heard a few guys off this forum were making alts so i was just seeing if any of them would chime in. The alt prices I've been quoted on from mechman and DC are just outta my price range. I mean I would love to spend 500 on an alt but damn..

i know what your talkin about man, i was the same way. but if you think about it, if you blow a sub or an amp cuz you fed it dirty power because you couldnt supply the power, itll suck to spend the money for new equipment, then still not have the power you need.

its worth saving up and getting quality products instead of spending more money to fix or replace low end products. IMO

Yea that does make sense... but i mean i have the batteries to back it up. I ran a stock alt with 5 batteries on 6k with my last system... Never dropped below 12.0 volts. Burps id hit like 11.5 but i still wasn't stupid worried. I just don't know about spending that much on a damn alt.

Guest DC Power Kyle

That powebastards alternator wouldn't even charge your vehicle at idle... your stock alternator does 75 amps give or take a little... the powerbastards would do around 25-30 amps if you are lucky... stay clear away from them. All you really need is a good 180 amp alternator and you're set. I know this because I have that same exact motor in my car and due to the crank shaft size and idle speed of the car you're 500 alternator RPMs LESS than what the typical alternator company rates them at.
