ChevyBoy95
what is the difference between the XP, HP, and PRO series? Why are some more expensive when they do the same amps? skittlesRgood
several technical differences. something to do with ripple current and the parts used. you should call them and ask tomorrow. Quote If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood. Guest DC Power Rob
XP's are the big dog's with brute force idle output (legit ~180-200 hot) and will taking a beating like no other and laugh it off. The HP is the smaller brother to the XP, same technology and durability, and has more idle output than alternators almost twice it's size. The 180HP we sell primarily on GM applications to off-road racing, etc where small size, high output and durability are king. The Pro series is a HD high output large case GM, just a true workhorse and the best "value" we have that for most people looking for the overall "package" it's our number one choice.. The difference in price your seeing between say a 280 pro and a 270XP for ~equal top end output is the difference in technology and idle output. Alternators are like trucks, in this case one's an F-150 V8 , one's an F-450 Dually Powerstroke. Both are still trucks right? Your just paying more for something that will do "more" in every way when you buy an XP. They really are worth the coin..
ChevyBoy95
ok because i really liked the pro series for my truck, 240 amp, and will be running 2krms on music, not burps. Guest DC Power Rob
Our 240 is also quite a bit under-rated.. Pro- series alts are the best value alt you can get, anywhere, period... Nothing wrong at all with them....
bumonskateboard6
^ Rob knows what's best and if you're at 2k rms you're gonna be fine with a pro. I run an HP series DC Alt because that's the biggest they made for my car, works great! Low voltage doesn't blow amps. That's a myth. A router that does the sub holes makes rounded edges also?
