any suggestions for alternator whine?

Recommended Posts

ii am getting a very bad alternator whine. It started after I put battery in the back and redid system wiring. Car was always quiet before. I've ran 2 extra grounds from battery to chassis with no help. Changed all rcas with no help. Amps r grounded directly to battery. Made 2 new grounds to headunit, didn't help. New 18g power wire to headunit. Ran hu power directly to distribution block. Motor has factory plus 2 grounds from alt to chassis and engine to chassis. Nothing has helped at all. Any other suggestions?

Yes. I posted I upgraded all grounds. Got a 2/0 from alt to distro block. A pair of 2/0 engine to frame grounds. Battery is in back, has a pair of 2/0 ground wires going to seperate locations in hatch area. I even ran new power and rca wires outside of car for testing and it didn't helpp at all. I've prolly installed 125+ systems in 15 years and I've never had a noise problem this bad that I can't fix.

Im not sure but have you cleaned your ground, like sanded off of paint?

Maybe rcas are to close to power and ground wires? Idk if that might help or not.

Posible headunit or amp? Im puzzled as much as you are
