RCP Audio Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 okay... so I was running my small system (2 12's, 400wrms each 1400wmax and was running them with a amp that puts out excatly that) I was driving home from work with going softly for i only put it in the day before. then when i went to start up my car today it didnt work? why could this be? i have checked it with my multi meter and it is picking up volts on the speaker out puts ( it just keeps rising up and up untill it reaches 12v then will drop back down to like 7v then rise again but the protect doesnt come on or anything) but according to the multimeter the amp isnt putting out any amps. How could it be putting out volts but no amps? Im so confused and this is my first sytem so all my amp is a cheap no label thing but it should last more then half an hour shurly. Please help me! i can answer any questions about anything if u need. I jst need to know what could make this happen... cheeerss PSN: Rcp_soundz Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. The higher the more amperage it pulls, this is what I look at. Boon Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 You hooked up a multimeter set to amps to the output of your amplifier? ;/ It's showing nothing because you just popped the internal fuse in your multimeter, or melted the ammeter circuit in it. 10.x volts fo' life!
