ShortWide1994 Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 I am about to build a box for my Digital Designs 9512 and I can not figure out what size to make it or what to put in the box calculator. The dimensions of the box are 15" High, 40" Wide, and 12" Deep. I wan to tune it around thirty hertz. Thanks. RAM_Designs Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 (edited) Why so low? You're going to need a good amount of port with that sub, so tuning low is going to make it quite long. You can bump tuning up to 35hz, still get good low-end, and not have a 40" long port. I'd do ~2.5ft^3 with a 13.5"x3.5" port. Ray Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 (edited) Id do 2.75 with a 13.5x 4 port tune to 36hz Edited April 7, 2011 by Ray Quote 2008 California state record holder 157.2 Bassrace2009 California state record holder 157.0 BassraceRollin 50's 158.7db2009 King of Cali Bassrace2009 USACi score 160.5 @ 42hz
Ray Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 Gonna want it a little deeper though Im not a big fan of the box being 40x12. Try to make it deeper rather than so wide Quote 2008 California state record holder 157.2 Bassrace2009 California state record holder 157.0 BassraceRollin 50's 158.7db2009 King of Cali Bassrace2009 USACi score 160.5 @ 42hz

zayres29 Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 DDs play crazy low tuned in the high 30s I had my AQs (not really DD but similar) tines to like 36-37 and they got stupid low Quote Btw that was the first person. Ever banned by me while dropping a deuce. Feel privileged
ShortWide1994 Posted April 10, 2011 Author Report Posted April 10, 2011 I guess I will bump the tuning up to about 35 or 36 hertz. The reason the dimensions are so weird is because it is going between the seats in a single cab truck.
