2-1000 watt vs 1-2000 watt

I have a Crossfire vr 1000 and thinking of getting 1 more. They can put out 1300 each

which should give me 2600 watts., But the 2000 puts close to 2400 watts. I want to know if the 200 watt difference matters.

Yo dog i heard you like boxes. so i put a box inside a box so you can bass while you FAIL

More power is more power. 1 amp is more efficent than 2 however.

And for this reason 1 larger amp is generally better than 2 smaller amps, if you factor in efficiency and the cost of wiring up two amps.

And one big amp is almost always cheaper to buy than 2 smaller ones.

Keep in mind that you cannot attain the same nominal impedence load with one amp vs two amps. That is usually the deciding factor.

If you have 2 D2 subs, then you can have 2 amps at 1 ohm loads each (strapped at 2 ohms) or one amp at .5 or 2 ohms. Or with D1 coils, it's vice versa.

This.

1 amp generally has less impedance rise than 2 strapped amps too :)
