J.Reed
box tuning doesn't change where the car peaks, all it does is over power it Very true, what I was getting at but not as well put. The resonance will be the same, but that isnt always where it WILL peak for the meter. As I pointed out before with the small bandwith burp box senrio outside of resonant tuning. AMI's daily port peaks at 45HZ which is outside of resonant for the vehicle. It over power the vehicles natural resonace at 57hz, but also helps to achieve a nice flat response from mid 30s-50 hz range (will play lower). Fits for most rap music that is demoed out of it. AMI CUSTOMS
Of the few hatchbacks I have tested, they seem to peak around 50 hz as well. And what is strange is they all peaked exact same in kick or on dash. J.Reed
The last hatch I did was off just a bit, but had nasty flex too. Which could have effected it. The one prior to that was right on wavelength formulas. It was able to set a Usaci record in 0-100 watt consumer by more then 5dbs lol. I was taught this method by a very knowledgeable WR holder in more then one class in the day lol. I have used it MANY times and 99% of the time it works. So if it works great and it should most the time. If not sucks for you hope you have someone that knows the peak of your vehicle or get ready to do a LOT of testing. TheyDontWantMusic
the 40hz transmission line was designed to use the car to extend its frequency response. The dayton woofer tester measures its resonant frequency as about 26hz. It still peaks at 51hz.
korey_hofer
certain cares have such a huge peak at resonant freq that the box can't peak enough at tuning to over come it. some cars I have tested had a 12-12db gain at resonant freq. where some cars the gain is less than the peak of the enclosure going in. I say it all the time but.. you can't just throw a box in tuned to your sub woofer and call it good. a "system" is just that everything needs to work together to come to your goal. hope that helps a little bit at least previously known as wenn_du_weinst aka fucking internet coward supreme. I talk shit on other forums like a little bitch and hope i don't get caught out on the street.

TheyDontWantMusic
i have another hatch back available. Shall i measure that and see if your theory fails again? I've done no spl testing in it yet. So tell me what to do
