Basshead15 Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 I'm kind of a noob at going over RMS but I was thinking of getting the new alpine 8" with some extra money from my birthday and since it's rated at 350RMS and my amp puts out 400wRMS at 1ohm I was wondering if there are some tips for running over RMS or should I just get a dual 4 ohm and run it at 2 ohms for 275w?

Keith2 Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Ya you should be just fine. I was running a 12'' type r at 2ohm on an alpine mrp m1000. Had the gains set and bumped for a long time. Its when i wanted just a little more out of it that i turned the gain up a little more, and a week later I had a blown sub.
