What is the average build times for these?....The details look time consuming.

because all of theme have beedn built at home, when we weren't involved in something else, it takes forever. The Bazooka install with the six 10's took something two, maybe two and a half year to complete. Its hard to build a serious Sound Quality competition car out of a daily driver.

After a couple of years off, I decided to build again. It started as a project for me and my son, with my wife seemingly interested in being a part of it. This shot shows the crossovers for the mids and highs housed in the passenger side of the trunk. The access panel in the floor is the cover for jack storage and the sparetire.

Another Viper alarm system was installed in teh driver side trunk wall. The two 10's are in a mirror-lined, ported box. The "Massive" logo over the box is a motorized amprack for a Massive Audio 5 channel amp.

To keep the amp cool, I used a push-pull fan system, but added something extra to keep the temp down. I robbed the Bazooka cooling system of its components. The fans blow air though teh radiator. The idea was that the cooler water, would cool the air as it passed through the radiator fins.

Here is a shot of the LED's lit up inside the box. The port was removable, so it's tuning could be changed. It fired out, into teh cabin through the rear armrest in the seat.

As it turned out, the car never got completely finished. In the beginning of the build, my son got his first, real girlfriend. That ended him doing anything with the car. My wife spent more and more time telling me I should give the car to him, or sell it so we could buy one for him. I gave up on finishing the car. Soon after Ike, it was obvious we were going to have to move. I ended up selling the Intrepid and everything else that wasn't tied down. we went from a 3100 sq ft home with a two car garage, to a 1200 sq ft duplex with a shitty drive way. That's what life is like when you are born under a bad sign! haha

Wow you have an amazing attention to detail. All of yours builds have my brain in a mess with new ideas. And your backstory of your audio/life history was a great read because after all the hardships you stay true to what you loved... family and audio.

Thanks! All I have after everything that has happened, has been my music and my family. of course if i could trade my wife and kids for audio gear.....(thinking)......Nah, i probably wouldn't do it. lol

I was looking on Craigslist and found an Intrepid for sale. The description wasn't my old car, but the pic was! haha! It was one of the photos from the Car Audio and Electronics article of the car. I e-mailed the guy and asked if he would like better pics of teh car...he never responded!

Found this cleaning out some files. A buddy of mine wanted to use his OEM tailgate cam on his aftermarket head unit. I did not know about the harness for this when we did it, so i figured out the wiring on my own. Then, we took it one step further. I ran an input from teh rear view mirror/monitor to a junction under the dash. That junction was then run to the trailer hitch wiring. I installed a camera on his trailer so he would be able to see behind the trailer when he was towing it. Looking in the pic, you can see the trailer's camera view (sorry for the glare). looking at his indash screen, you can see his OEM tailgate cam.
