Purplehaze
My headunit does have a crossover, but nothing beats a physical crossover, plus quick access to the settings right on my ceiling!! Also the headunit doesnt have the crossover that I would use for the tweets, as mine have to be set at about 2800 hz for the tweets/mids Really Chris I have the 1 active 3 way crossover on the ceiling, then it goes to the amps which will not use the crossovers on there, and then to the passive crossovers, which really dont hurt anything, they will provide a passive crossover, but they are being wired up to be biamped, so the tweets will be on there own amp, and the mids will share 2 amps, and the subs will have 1 amp, so really its actively crossover once, then passively once, but it wont really be using the passive because it will be crossed over at the same point the passives would do it, so it should turn out awesome, also these passive crossovers have protection for the tweets in them so they dont get too much juice and die Man I know I am out of place a little, but it just seems to me like u would be loosing a little something by crossing over so much? I believe the 2800hz line is the crossover point for these speakers, I will double check, might be higher Also to everyone else, I just got my screen and my phone is fixed, will be getting pictures soon EDIT** From kickers site "The 2-way, bi-ampable passive crossovers covered in Plexiglas feature 24dB/octave highpass and 12dB/octave lowpass routing centered at 2.8kHz." 2006 Mazda3 Hatchback Black 5 Spd ManualPioneer 4300DVD2 Sundown SA-12 (34hz Tune, 3.22 cubes, 14.5 inches per cube, Triple Baffle)Kicker 10ZX2500.1 (2845 RMS) Sub AmpKicker 11ZX650.4 (705 RMS) Mid Amp -- (3 Amps)Kicker KQ3 Active CrossoverKicker KQ30 EqualizerKicker 09QS60.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones)Kicker 09QS65.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones) - (3 Sets)2/0 Gauge Electron Beam Technologies (3 Runs, 2 +, 1 -) 1/0 Gauge KNU Kollasal Flex (1 Run for -) 300 Ft Kicker X-Series 16 Gauge Speaker WireXS Power D3400 (Rear)XS Power D3100 (Front)Singer Externally Regulated Alternator (Being Built)+ The Love for Car Audio and BASS <3UBL Build Log <------- Click Here-------> Normal Build Log (For Comments)
armykyle1
ALRIGHT, My Weekend is done, and what a weird fun weekend it was!!! Got very little done, but here is what I did. Unfortunately there are gonna be no pictures or video until I fix this My phone decided it would like to fall down the good ol' lazyboy and totally smash the lcd panel, so im ordering a new front lcd and housing. Got my Mechman Alternator in, its beautiful, a deep dark red in color, tested at 120 idle and 223amps max, got the new power and ground leads to it also!! Also the Carbon Fiber Vinyl and my Milwaukee Circular sander came in the mail so I can finish the back box and get the amps in!!!! that sucks ass man. I have a evo too.
