VIP3R
I cannot seem to find the answer. Is clipping in the mp3 file bad? It seems almost EVERY song now a days have clipping of some sort in the mp3 file...some worst than others. Is this actually "clipping" or just a result of compression of MP3? I mean as long as you are not hard clipping and have setup your gains properly along with your decks max unclipped output are you safe? Discuss. If this has been discussed before, please link me and Ill delete this thread. Thanks. I just can not seem to get a good enough answer. 2 Sundown Audio SA-10s Box built by Speed of Sound Kicker 1500.1 Infinity Ref 475a Rockford Fosgate T1682c 6x8s Pioneer Premier DEH-510UB XS Power D6500 Stock 130amp Alt Big 3 Build Log
R3nOSlaPP
if a song is clipped to all hell (ie. ones that have been bass added/boosted are usually clipped) i wouldnt trust playing it and alot of clipping comes from when you swap formats example dragging a song from a cd to itunes or windows media player Vehicle: 2017 Chevrolet Silverado High Country Electrical: 320A Singer Alt, (2) Limitless Lithium 15ah, Full Throttle FT680-48 Speakers: Stevens Audio SA 6 (ACTIVE), Audio Designs 3” Subwoofer: (4) B2 Audio XM 8’s Amplifiers: (2) B2 Audio Rage 2500.1, (1) B2 Audio Rage 1200.6 Processors: NavTv M650 (integration), Helix DSP Pro MK2 Silverado Build Log

hdorre
Yes, extremely bad distortion is bad. Just because a song distorts, it doesn't mean its a full on clip. VIP3R
so what do you guys think then in terms of mp3s and "clipping"? is it something to worry about? or just compression issues. 2 Sundown Audio SA-10s Box built by Speed of Sound Kicker 1500.1 Infinity Ref 475a Rockford Fosgate T1682c 6x8s Pioneer Premier DEH-510UB XS Power D6500 Stock 130amp Alt Big 3 Build Log

korey_hofer
you can run major clipping before you get audible, and even after it's audible you can still be fine. just feel it out previously known as wenn_du_weinst aka fucking internet coward supreme.
