what should i look for before i buy it? i wanna clamp my alts and my amps whenever i have some hooked and and fiqure box rise and what not

i already have a good DMM and a TPI scope plus 440

Hard to find a DC clamp meter to test alts.

To test the amps, look for a true RMS AC clamp meter with PEAK HOLD. and auto ranging.

a Fluke 337 is a good ac/dc amperage meter.

or this craftsman works good and cheap!

I have a nice Craftsman. AC/DC current. Olso has probes to test ohms and voltage so it's like a multimeter and clamp meter in one. Only thing I don't like is that it doesnt have peak hold. So you always have to watch it.
