Monergist
Don't just throw out do more than 2,000. ^^^ Didn't understand this part?.. edit: oh, I see you were talking to antione. The two I played with didn't like over 2,500 too much in any of the four enclosures I built for them. I'm curious what your amp is[.] Yeah, it seems that they're good with over 2000 with the gains down and not over an extended period of time. 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Pioneer AVH-P5200BT Hertz Mille MLK-165 Component System Hertz Hi Energy HCX-165, 6.5 Hertz Hi Energy HCX-690 (6x9s) Audison Voce AV K6 Component System Audison VRX 4.300 Audison VRX 2.250 Sundown 4500D SMD 15" XS Power D3400 (under hood) Three XS Power D3100 (trunk) Monster XLN-201 RCAs DC Power Engineering 390XP H/O Alternator
TeamHT
LOL ^^This yeah. were talking about an amp that did rated at 16+ volts, and even then it was pushing it. i dont remember seeing any of the clamp tests showing full rated power coming out of these. NOT to mention what are the voicecoil configurations of the subs? D2? possibly wiring the amp to 4 ohms each? in which case youre really only seeing 2,000 watts+? Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

D2? possibly wiring the amp to 4 ohms each? in which case youre really only seeing 2,000 watts+? He said he has 1 6500 per pair. I'd bet he has 2 dual 4 ohms wired down to 1 ohm at 14.4 for 5300, which would put him at 2650 a piece if he could maintain the voltage (and if the xxx could really put out that power). But my 2500ds are pumping well over 2500 to these drivers. 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Pioneer AVH-P5200BT Hertz Mille MLK-165 Component System Hertz Hi Energy HCX-165, 6.5 Hertz Hi Energy HCX-690 (6x9s) Audison Voce AV K6 Component System Audison VRX 4.300 Audison VRX 2.250 Sundown 4500D SMD 15" XS Power D3400 (under hood) Three XS Power D3100 (trunk) Monster XLN-201 RCAs DC Power Engineering 390XP H/O Alternator

These drivers don't have the best thermal capabilities Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

That depends on the person really. And tuning and response. But this all becomes install dependant as even great quality equipment will fail to perform in shoddy applications.
