I really just don't see how people hearing bass on the streets is so inconsiderate or ruining the image for "true" hobbyists. You could crank a completely stock system on your favorite AC/DC track...have others hear it...and...be a bad name on the AC/DC group? Ruining the image for stock drivers everywhere? Deserve a brick thrown through your window? I personally believe before we crack down on sound issues, we crack down on this naive, shortsighted violence aimed to anything we don't like, seems to me like a much larger, more volatile issue.

Bumping at a red light, driving through the city, I really don't see an issue with it. And before people jump down my neck I keep the volume at 4-8 and only crank when I truly feel like it. The only areas I seriously think people should respect, are residential areas. I personally don't care about people riding through my neighborhood bumping beats at 2 in the morning. I just look out and see who it is and see if they are loud or not. But I know many people like to keep their home a sanctuary away from the world.

I believe the overturning is a good landmark. I believe there is a need for sound control...leaving your car on at the gas station to blast your shit while inside is idiotic and ghetto. But not every person with thump is seriously a douche. I'm certainly not, and I love bass

oh and even though it was covered long ago in another thread, how can you possibly bump100% respectfully? even at shows people will hear it riding past or while sitting at the restaurant while eating their lunch, hell even on open road that dont mean someone wont hear it, and just get pissed just because its a car making noise. i respect people when im stopped and at night, but other than that if my cars in motion theres no point in me thinking im not bothering someone and that im being respectful without actual proof

Got a interesting experience that happened just a few minutes ago a local Circle K. I pulled in with system about half way up. When I was pulling into my spot I truned it down. As I am getting out a dirty *** ex motley crue roadie jumps out of the passenger side of his woman's beat as up Pontiac Montana. As he gets out I hear him say "Effin stupid Azzez". He walks in store in a rage and I follow behind him. As he is done making his purchase a sheriff pulls up(probably to buy a drink or what not). He rushes out the door and runs over to the sheriff's car. I knew what he was up too(trying to rat me out for playing my stereo). Anyway, I bought my Mountain Dew and as I was walking towards the doorI see him pointing at me then points at my truck. Epic enough the sheriff opens and holds the door for me to walk out. I hear the Roadie tell the sheriff "There is nothing you can do? There should be a law in place to shoot people who play their stereos in their cars". And I couldn't resist. I said to the roadie, in front of the officer, "Your right! Same law should be put in place when you and your biker boys parade down the road in packs, Same should apply to any political and or religious street shouter, right?" I then said "Use that logic in court and see how far it takes your case". The sheriff simple shook his head at the roadie and walk in side the store. The man stormed off and got back in the passenger seat of his toothless womans van. We leave at the same time. I don't normally act a azz but I drove by him with stereo on full tilt with all outside speakers on, as I passed by I gave a friendly smile while he screamed in the van with the windows up.

P.S. I want to appologize to his woman for making him sooooooo outraged that he will beat her when they get home.

Somebody asked if it applies to "city" ordinance also. In a way yes, since the State Statutes over rule city laws.

And to the person that called Tommy a dbag? You're kidding right? You gotta be.

Right now the over rule only applies to aprox 10 counties/districts. If it does get overturned in the Supreme court, then it'll apply to all cities/counties/districts of Florida.

What's going to happen, though, is a rewording of the law. They'll try to make it sound more plausible but it won't be.

Since this has happened I have not heard one loud stereo in my area, well, except for yesterday and that was mine when I went to the store.

thatll never happen. people could give a fuck less about people they dont know or know of in most cases. i think there should be laws, just not against driving while bassing(the new DWB) in a non residential area

bringing back this dead thread, not even sure if i've posted on this board or not yet? oh well

i live in pinellas county, the other night i had dinner with my dad and his friend, who's a lieutenant, during dinner he asked how i was liking my new truck, i told him it's awesome, and i've invested a couple grand into the stereo, we got onto that subject, and he said yea, they had a meeting at the police station to tell every officer, they can NOT pull anyone over for loud music anymore.

so yea, the cops, at least here know, they can't pull ya over, now that's not to say they won't follow you and try and getcha for something else stupid...

...side story, i installed a new amp, and went to the shopping center down my street to set the gains with my oscope, pulled into the farthest corner, away from all the shoppers, there was a cop sitting there in his cruiser doing paperwork or something, i pulled up right next to him, got out and started to walk around my truck, he rolled down his window cuz he thought i was gunna talk to him or something, he looked at me, i just said, hey, just gatta tweet my stereo, just installed a new amp, he just nodded his head and said ok... a minute later i got it up, crankin, looked over and was shaking his mirror... he pulled out and drove away, i lol'd
