BigPimpin91
I'm guessing its lowside, thats where you fill it right? 2000 pontiac sunfire 2.2l non ecotec Yep, fill on low side. OK, I was just making sure you weren't running an R-12 system. Mixing different types of refrigerants is EXTREMELY dangerous. Were talking about shit exploding. BassJunkie
what would you recommend the lowside reading be with the pump on? billy101
Are you sure the fan is coming on with the a/c? We had an older honda civic that the a/c would work for a little, and then cut off because the fan wasn't coming on, new motor solved it. Quote First System 2002 Impala LS 3.8L V6, 128,365k miles. BigPimpin91
what would you recommend the lowside reading be with the pump on? Honestly, best course of action is to take it to the A/C place. Are you sure the fan is coming on with the a/c? We had an older honda civic that the a/c would work for a little, and then cut off because the fan wasn't coming on, new motor solved it. And this is also a probability. If your fan isn't keeping the condenser cool, you'll have bad performance. JaM Customs aka mprete
ok you really need to do a little more research with google. there is a ton of info everywhere on this. also realize there are 2 test ports. one is high side pressure and the other is low side. YOU CANNOT READ HOW MANY POUNDS OF FREON IS IN THE SYSTEM!!! literally impossible unless you weigh a bottle and empty the system into the bottle and them re-weigh it. it could be weigh over charged from messing with it and not knowing what your doing. also those autozone re charge systems do work but make sure you read the instructions 100 percent and follow them or else it wont work. best bet is to stop spending pointless money on recharge kits and go to a local shop and pay the 20 bucks to have it recharged. they will empty and refill it. takes like a half hour of your life... slow240sx
some of those systems on that car has a "variable flow compressor" which means the compressor always keeps running. The compressor varies inside to change the flow instead of the clutch coming on and off. I know some of the late 90's cavaliers worked that way. The pressures will change slower instead of an on and off type of compressor.
