No offense but at your post count shouldnt you know this by know? But to answer your question, adding batteries doesnt raise your voltage. It ONLY raises your voltage that you rest at. To get higher voltage get a better alt from DC power or Mechman. I have xs batts and they are the shit and they can take a beating but they didnt raise my voltage, only like 2v when i have the truck dead for a day compared to my stock battery that was 7 years old when i bought my truck. But about as basic as its going to get.12 volt batteries are 12 volt, charge at 14, so if you wanted to maintain a higher voltage, upgrade the alternator. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

True but still you should know at least that batts dont raise voltage, only store power and that alts make power and raise voltage. There are people with high post counts who couldn't tell you why there's a minus sign on his wire or amp. And then some who are incredibly knowledgeable and experienced with low, low, low post counts. I've said it before, but there should be a sign on the profile whether or not his advice should be taken, LOL. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
Relyks Posted May 16, 2011 Author Report Posted May 16, 2011 actually i stated this question wrong. i meant will my voltage hold its own a little better charging system or not my battery is a bit dead i have put it in different cars and meter it will not go higher then 13.5 volts for anything in this world i already knew about alternator so let me re instate my question if i were to switch to a yellow top or a xs battery will they hold a charge better i guess is what i am asking and most of my post have been from helping people with stuff they didnt know and asking question on equipment and enclosures and my build log. so post count means nothing. --> My Toyota Build Link / AudioQue Build . <-- Latest Update 1/16/12
TeamHT Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 A battery designed for car audio will give a better performance than stock type batteries designed for low amperage, extended periods. But when your current draw exceeds amps available (60amps) you're going to drop. Shop around with corona_Jeff, he had the cheapest XS prices shipped. I would recommend a D2700 Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
