SPLVan
I hooked up my volt meter the other day and with the car running it stayed right around 13.8 or 13.9 with some music on about 50-60% it was dropping to 13.4 or 13.2. with ONLY 2 5x7's. im worried once i get my 1000w RMS amp and hook up 2 12's the drop is going to be extreme. is there anything i can do to help this? 1999 Dodge Caravan [TrashMobile] 8ga Power/Ground AudioPipe APSM-1300 (subs) Scosche 550 (mids/highs) Boss 735UA Headunit (2)Hifonics HFi12D4 Still Under Major Construction.. TeamHT
What's the resting voltage of your battery? Hopefully the big 3 is completed, and the alternator will dish out max possible when required. A 270 amp alternator is not continuously putting out 270 amps. Upgrade your battery should be enough for 1,000rms Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you? TeamHT
And don't get just a standard battery. They're not designed for the discharge required by car audio. Obviously, they will work, but you're better off getting something applicable. Not all XS batteries are $300+. PM Corona_Jeff Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
